Bigots are wrong no matter what religion. There is no worse or less bad bigotry.

This is why Bollywood can easily make film or web series on all sorts of militants, radicals or abuse of power by politicians and men in uniform.

No one is hating Muslims just due to one Sooryavanshi. Just as no one hates Hindus due to PK, OMG, Shorgul, Dharam, Firaaq, Mr and Mrs Iyer, Singham Returns, Ghoul, Ashram, Leila etc.

As for SRK, he was labeled Pakistani agent even before BJP came on scene. There were protests against MNIK by Shiv Sena for his mere statement saying Pak players should be allowed to play in IPL.

It is not new.

Aamir was called Pak agent for inaugurating Imran Khan's hospital in 2004 made in his mother's name and his and SRK's old pics are dug out to link them to Imran now, forgetting Imran was a popular cricketer then and not PM of Pakistan so there are plenty of pics of him in India or Indian celebs with him from older decades.

Sunil Gavaskar also got trolled for his 35 year old ad with Imran when both were cricketers.

These are nonsense of social media trolls. Not meant to be given importance. Just report and block.

These guys keep quiet at Shatrughan Sinha, former BJP minister being besties with General Zia Ul Haq and having his daughter as his Rakhi sister. And Vinod Khanna, LK Advani visiting Pakistan to see their ancestral homes pre 1947.

Swara giving interview to Pak channel is wrong. Naseer visiting Pak for a film festival is wrong. Anupam Kher visiting Karachi lit fest is okay. 🤣

Call out the hypocrisy but avoid making sweeping judgements on films. Not all films have agenda.

And Sooryavanshi is replete with that same dumb stereotype. There is a way to handle the issue but Shettty's script really didn't really leave much for nuance (big surprise! but when you're dealing with hindu-muslim issues in a volatile country like India in a blockbuster it's your duty to be more responsible- calling it a "popcorn" "masala" entertainment doesn't cut it)

I honestly don't see the problem with some actors or anyone else meeting their own country's prime minister. Like you don't have to support him, or go meet him or anyone from his party yourself (as India is a democracy), but for the exact same reason, you can't expect that everyone else in the country or outside it boycotts a democratically elected leader just because you don't like him.

And I also don't see how Sooryavanshi was Islamophobic at all, they included many positive Muslim characters and made it clear that it's not simply being a Muslim, but rather being a terrorist/extremist (which most Muslims clearly aren't) that's the problem.

Nope. 😆

Narmada Bachao Andolan. It was a movement meant to stop the construction of massive dams over the Narmada River.

Its because most Americans agree with her and think Modi/BJP are problematic. Unlike in India the left has the power there and the country is much better off and less hateful.

Modi & his supporters are the ones who incite the most religious hatred by far but of course you don't care when its against Muslims

Who cares what Americans agree with? And this movie had nothing to do with Modi and BJP. Rohit Shetty has made movies showing Hindu godmen as villains as well. But of course you don't care since you cannot use the "Muslim victimhood" card there. In other words, you don't care when it's against Hindus, right?

Sure but the bigots who are part of the majority religion are the bigger problem because they obviously have more power and can oppress the minorities. But you can ask the Christians who were assaulted a lot in the last month (https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/brutality-and-persecution-drive-indian-christians-underground/articleshow/88453599.cms).

Want to know about Hindus who are assaulted in Muslim-majority areas of West Bengal? Heard of Deganga riots? No, obviously not since Islamic extremism isn't a problem to you (although its the biggest problem all over the world).

So when Muslims assault Hindus its "islamic extremism" but when Hindus go after Christians or Muslims its never hindu extremism.

Typical hypocrisy from your type. Islamic terror outside Kashmir has not been a major problem whatsoever in India for quite some time now. Or if it has then hindu extremism has been a bigger problem since 2015 at least because there are TONS of incidents where they have assaulted Muslims and Christians but your type doesn't care at all. Its always "muh evil muslims" or whining about centuries old shit.

The rest of the world doesn't matter, we are talking about Indian Muslims.

Seems like you have reading comprehension problems. I already said I have no problem with movies with Muslim terrorists or invaders as villians but the important part is the execution & also what the current political climate is.

In the past few years all historical movies have had cartoon muslim villians (as if there was no Indian history before Muslims or not some nuance where various Hindus supported Muslims as well), then we have movies like this with muslim terrorists. Then there are movies with Pakistani's (Muslims) as bad guys. There is no balance whatsoever

At the same time the BJP and their IT cell spread hate against Muslims as well and you really think this is comparable with some Hindu godmen villian from 7+ years ago? Your victim complex is typical from bhakts who think Hindus have been oppressed all along...

I never complained about movies like Sarfrosh and Border because they weren't there to spread hate and push some agenda. And we had plenty of movies with good muslim representation in general. Now that's non existent

Centuries old shit? Like temples being razed to the ground or countless people being butchered by invaders like Ghazni or Taimurlang? Is that what you mean by "centuries old shit"? 😆

And yeah, terror has not been a problem for how many years? 2-3? We had the Pulwama attacks in 2019 itself. Before that, Uri and Pathankot. Strange coming from someone who liked to bring out "centuries old shit". 🤪

See it's 'your type' who like to agree with the likes of Rana Ayyub who is forever crying victimhood at the hands of eeeevil Hindus. I see you conveniently avoided my point on the Deganga riots. Not surprising at all.
