Why is Alia not called a flop actress after Kalank and Sadak? - Page 2

According to PR payrolled media Kalank was Sonakshi and Madhuri's failure and Sadak was cancer patient's.

I do not even want to think of Sadak. Alia was bad in the promo itself.

I like work of Sanjay, Pooja and Sadashiv Amrapurkar in Sadak. Sadak 2 ruined the original. It is one of those films which makes you feel films should never have sequels or remakes.

Eh, it's about perception. Kalank was Varun's big star vehicle. And Sadak 2 came in the pandemic plus the SSR hate train. If anything, it comes off that Alia helped the films open decent. Now her upcoming films are all her. Even in Brahmastra and Rocky/Rani, she will have to do the heavy-lifting because of how patchy her two heroes' track-records are.

Alia is truly lucky that Karan has cherry picked all her movies and backed her in such a big way. She literally didn’t have to struggle .
Whereas her contemporaries like Kriti Sanon , Shradhha etc have had to work hard for so long to get noticed and get that 1 special movie

I am rather surprised how Johar took Alia under his wings given how Mahesh Bhatt is a rude, bitter man and has bashed K Jo's brand of cinema in past. I understand why he took Ananya because Chunkey was part of K Jo, SRK friend circle since 90s. The favours Alia gets despite fights her dad had with media and industry colleagues is surprising. Mahesh Bhatt hardly has goodwill thanks to his short temper. Alia is one helluva lucky girl.

Which would seem to mean it's not because of nepotism. He likes Alia for herself, not her family.

Not how the film was marketed. The PR was all about how desi Meryl Streep is such an amazing actress, how kjo cried watching a few scenes with her, and how she is the best kathak dancer under the sun. When it flopped, Kalank suddenly became Varun's film. And Madhuri's. And Sonakshi's. LMAO

I wasn’t in any forum at that time and was just following the YT videos but even I noticed how the shift happened. 😂
