As for Aditya, well, he doesn't consider what Malini did to be rape, so that's a non-starter. Instead he considers a child borne of that rape to be his and is on a journey of legitimizing that child and fatherhood.

Aditya is definitely a product of society just as much as Malini. I'd feel bad for him if he weren't so cruel to Imlie.

You captured the complexity of emotions. Of mother and daughter and between "sisters" as well.

Anu's brainwashing matters. And you can see Malini try to live up to an ideal only to crack because she truly isn't that giving person. She was also asked to forgive the unforgivable. What Aditya did to her is beyond horrible and I think it's why he lets her get away with so much. Even the unforgivable.

Such toxicity,

so Adi should have remained in a loveless marriage and act like he loved Malini. Would it have been ideal thing to do . why would he remain in loveless marriage making his life and Malinis life miserable when he doe not love Malini. it was Malinis call she rape Adi or not . She was not a doodh peeta bacha . She did it by her will. And she didn't felt sorry to flaunt in front of Imlie .

This is exactly why I don't venture out in the main forum.

I never said Malini isn't responsible for her actions.

And if a marriage is loveless then by all means leave it. But leave it when you realize it's loveless rather than for another person. And when that person is your secret wife, which happens to de-legitimize said marriage - there is a string of conscious decisions there that can't be defended no matter how you look at it.

Aditya's marriage to Imlie isn't legal at all because of that thing called the Hindu marriage act. And, yes, one should get the hell out of a loveless marriage. But imagine taking seven years well into your thirties to realise the difference between attraction and love. Imagine marrying someone without telling them that you have another woman socially, if not legally, attached to you. Imagine keeping both the women in the same house — one as a wife and another as a servant just to leave one for the other Par kucch bhi defend kiya ja sakta hai.

What Malini did was a crime—————equation 1

Aditya has been emotionally abusive to both the women from the beginning till Malini turns into a criminal ——————— equation 2

Both the equations are true but unrelated.

Yeah I get that the marriage with Imlie wasn't legal because forced. But still, he relied on it happening first and "Imlie is my wife" to help him out of the pickle. So wacko. I love how you put it.

And I totally agree. Both women in the same house 👀🧐

The unborn child bit is wrong, because that would make Malini and Imlie only a year different in age not 9 years. It would appear by her fairly recent confession that, like Malini, Anu claimed to be pregnant when she wasn't. That hasn't been developed - but she said it twice. She lied to force him back when he had actually fallen in love with Meethi. That's why Anu suggested the idea to Malini in the first place.

He is bitter because he came back and didn't have the guts to go back to Meethi again, and later he told her he stayed home as he had a little girl, Malini, but she was NOT the baby spoken of, the ages do not tally.

I don't believe Dev used Anu to boost his career either. She fell for the romance of an artist and throughout the serial she has used his name to boost her status, at tons of meetings and events, usually to get at Adi and/or Imlie.

Oh, it is clear that Imlie was born when Malini was in her teenage, and Meethi was quite young herself. For whatever reason it is that Dev is bitter or that Anu lied to him, it is only him that betrayed the marriage and brought an innocent child in the world. He's the cheater here. Both are selfish and benefit from each other but seriously Dev has no sympathy from me. If Anu could lie about being pregnant whilst he was with Meethi, it means that he was being with two women at the same time. 🤢

I was referring to Imlie being the unborn child when Malini must have been thirteen given that she's a college teacher.

This is one of the most sensible post I have read , including the main topic.

It was echoed by the writers in today's episode too. Finally we got an insight into her twisted ways of thinking.
