From a neutral PoV, if we come to the matter of rape, then there are many who cannot come out and fight because of how society views them, be it, men or women. As a character, Aditya is a journalist, has been fighting for people's rights, and has been projected as someone who considers himself as the "voice of people". He claims to, kya tha woh, humne ye profession isliye join kiya tha taaki hum bina dare apni baat rakh sake danke ki chot pe". When we keep that Aditya in mind, our expectation is, he will stand by what is right.
But claiming to be usulon ka pakka and then going ahead and deleting evidence goes against the very professional obligation he chose to uphold. It is a crime. Why? Because he became emotional for a child? Whose birth doesn't involve his consent? Woh bhi rehne do. He does not consider Malini as a perpetrator, but a victim, despite seeing proof. Why? Why would you do that? Emotion for the child I still get, but not considering Malini wrong is what I don't get.
Okay, Imlie made a mistake, she should have handled the bachcha affair a bit more smartly. Could have taken up responsibility without placing her in the house. But ye bhi to socho, that a girl who has lived without her father's name, she takes pride in being her mom's daughter, but dimaag aur dil me baat hai na, ki woh bin baap ki hai. Ussi ko trigger point banaoge to hogi hi emotional. And Aparna had also said na, to live with it. To accept and move on.
Malini is not someone whom I even consider worth any criticism. She is just beyond all this. But a morally upright and principled guy, bends his principles and gives bakwaas logic, is what fuses the bulb. If he only sees Malini as the victim, then how can anybody save him. Imlie ko samajh aaya she is wrong to woh usko rectify karne ki koshish kar rahi thi. Par jiske saath sab kuch hua, woh khud hi kuch karna na chahe, sach ko dekh ke bhi nahi dekhna chahe, to khudaay khidhmatgar bhi uska kuch nahi kar sakta.
Just my opinion.
