I have enjoyed Gul's older productions like Geet and IPKND (season 1) which is why I started watching this drama.
I binge-watched till Adi finally tells the family that Imlie is his first wife and Malini's 360-degree change into a negative character, after which I just couldn't take it and stopped watchingš¤¢. But ever since Aryan's entry I have started watching the show again hoping for a positive change in Imlie's life. Didn't really need to go back to watch the episodes in between as I got the gist of what might have happened.
Adi-Aryan-Imlie Character analysis (Please don't kill meš its just my opinion and I welcome others opinions as wellš) - Also not sure if anyone else has made a similar post but I wanted to share my thoughts (sorry in advance if a post has already been made)
Aditya: I like GM as Aditya. He is a good actor and knows how to bring out the right emotionsš. But I don't really like Adi's character. I understand the whole forced marriage was not easy to deal with, then getting married to Malini and eventually falling in love with Imlie and divorcing Maini was a roller coaster ride for this character and for the viewers. However, Adi from what I noticed is so emotionally unstable ( I mean - koi iss bande ko meditation sikhao, shayad apne emotions pe control kar paye) and easily manipulated. How in the world did you become a journalist?
After falling in love with Imlie, I really wished that he would have had more faith in her and supported her decision of sending Malini back to her home. Then the whole sleeping with Malini situation (unknowingly and without consent) was just plain ughghhh but destroying the evidence against Malini and downgrade your wife's efforts in front of the court was DISGUSTING. He is stuck between his so-called friendship and his wife whom he supposedly loves but does not trust. I believe that love can only bring two people together but trust is what strengthens a relationship and Adi-imlie relationship does not have that. Believing Malini who he has known for far longer than Imlie is also understandable but if he can't believe his wife then he has no right to keep her in that kind of relationship (Haan bhai tujhe imlie se pyaar hain lekin bharosa to ghanta nahi hain). This is why I think that their relationship needs to end.
Hoping to see Adi: 1) Going crazy with the divorce, 2) Starting his newspaper company (with the help of Malini of course), 3) Figuring out about Aryan and his brother-in-law, 4) Trying to ruin Aryan and Imlies lives, 5) Figuring out Malini's true intensions (hopefully through the help of the phone that keeps making an appearance every few episodes), 3) Regretting his actions and asking for imlie's forgiveness, 4) Crying over imlie's rejection but then after moving on in his life because he does not deserve her due to his actions, and 5) Maybe falling in love with someone else; whom he trusts and loves.
Imlie: ST has been doing great as a young actress and will definitely develop into an excellent actressšš¼.
Imlie's character arc took such drastic turns that I could not even keep up. In PD she didn't want to get married and wanted to focus on her career in becoming a police officer for her Dadda (lekin shadi ke bina story kaise aage badhe gi). But then the whole naukrani stuff with a bit of exams and college stuff, falling in love stuff and sasural and sautan drama stuff, just put her life goals to the side. Plus I was surprised how the makers quickly decided to change her future career goals from being a police officer to being a journalist (arre bhai just because your husband is a journalist doesn't mean you have to be one too). The woman is smart and strong as heck, can beat up people, use a gun and fire it without hesitation why in the world would you change that? I mean we all have second thoughts about our future but we give it a lot of thought before making drastic changes. I was really hoping for makers to show her police officer journey (i know diya aur bati hum had this track), but what can we do nowš. I really hope they somehow show her going back to the original police officer dream for her Dadda .
Now for her marriage part: bottom line leave Adi. I know it is not easy for her to give up on her relationship (especially in ITV) and we know you love him but time will heal everything. I mean the man believes anything Malini says, doesn't trust you, passes judgment without thinking or even having a proper conversation to clear misunderstandings (Bhai isse patrakar kisne banaya? Matlab itna sara bhashan deta hain ke main logon ke samne sach lata hoon and all that, toh jab biwi ki baat aati hain to saach kya ghaas charne chala jata hain kya?)
Hoping to see Imie: 1) Give Adi divorce, 2) Journalism stuff or Police officer stuff, 3) Malini pardafash, 4) Not accepting Adi back in her life even after he begs for forgiveness and asks her to come back in her life, 5) Emotionally understanding and supporting Aryan and his family, 6) spreading happiness in the Rathore family, 7) moving forward in her career and life, and 8) falling in love with Aryan.
Aryan: I am truly enjoying FK in this new storyline. Aryan (ASR 2.0) is definitely carved from Maan and Arnav (from Geet and IPKND- to those who have watched these shows know what I am talking about) which is why I really like this character. I am glad to see a male character (hopefully a second male lead turning into the main male lead šš) paving the path to success for an 18-year-old girl. I really wish the makers develop this character really well. This character has many layers to him and I hope Imlie will be able to peel through these to bring out the true Aryan. Also, I want to see Aryan in aww when Imlie is in fighting mode (like when she was during Adi's kidnapping).
Hoping to see Aryan in: 1) Revenge mode for his brother-in-law with the office battles - especially when and if Adi starts his own company, 2) Guild mode when figuring out that it was not Adi's fault, 3) Opening up emotionally to Imlie and sharing his pain, 4) Supporting Imlie in her career and emotionally during her divorce, and 5) Slowly falling in love with Imlie.
Sorry, did not expect to write so much, just had too many thoughts. Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere. Also, to all the Adi-Imlie fans please don't mind, I was and still am a fan of their chemistry as well but I am also enjoying Arylie as well. Well, let's wait and see what happens.
