He is the only one who is 'grey'. Sai is 'white' and pakhi is 'black'. So they are making him a bit lighter shade of grey and a bit darker shade to make the plot interesting.

I think its 2 coz its itv and makers will not show and promote anti nationalism...... They will not show an ips officer an anti nationalist otherwise it will send a wrong msg to society and it will lead to the end of this show by the channel.....
