I liked Ranveer in initial part of the trailer. Almost sounded like real Kapil Dev. Especially got his English right. But when he was speaking during the last part of trailer he sounded more like himself than Kapil Dev. Kapil paaji speaks even Hindi with pauses. That is his style of speech.
I hope the makers got feel of 80s right. There was not much pre WC craze in India in those days, no fan culture, no media. 1983 WC win single handedly introduced the craze and dedicated cricket fan culture.
If I am not mistaken Kapil's wife has deep voice and wears a lot of kajal in eyes. Wish Deepika had changed her voice a bit while speaking and put a bit more kajal in eyes.
Physically Ranveer has got Kapil paaji's look right. I was worried if the teeth would look caricaturish. Thankfully it is not.
Music should have made more early 80s style.
Rest of cast looks good and promising.
Film looks like big screen stuff. Would be sad if it did not release in theatres and only released online.
I liked it overall. I am hoping Ranveer has maintained Kapil paaji's style of speaking throughout the film. Kapil Dev is an icon, a legend and I hope he has done justice to his role. I like the improvement Ranveer has made as an actor over the years and how he challenges himself.
Thankyou for sharing Zara, these are from the neutral audience people who watch a film based on the material and not coz of stardom.
I showed the trailer to my dad and he loved it and looking forward to it. He has shared it with his friends in their groups too :) That generation has fond memories about this WIN. Like how the 90s kids remember the WCT20 win and the 50 over WC win under Dhoni 😊

1. He mimicked Kapil Dev!
2. He doesn't sound like Kapil Dev!
3. It's not Lord's... when it actually is

5. Unreal dialogue... when the cricketers themselves say this is what happened.

8. Feeling sorry for Kapil... the man himself seems quite happy about the movie and the cast.
Bottomline is this... trailer has won 90% plus positive reaction. Some peeps are worried movie is going to do well, therefore trying to spread negativity.
