sad part is .. it is never addressed in the show.. and now she has gone one level up… she has extended this courtesy to her elder daughter in law as well.. well no physical violence but mental and emotional trauma that she is putting her through is so demeaning and uncalled for.. she has no brain which is infact proudly declared by Manushi yesterday… and I couldn’t agree more …
Which is why I had declared that Babita deserves someone like Manushi in her life a few posts ago (can't remember which thread it was)...someone who's choices keep changing according to her greed and someone who can manipulate an arrogant woman like Babita easily...I kinda understand the leverage given to Babita tho...nobody really calls her out on her behaviour except her own son (I saw this happen only once on the screen) and her husband (who's problematic himself considering he's got the whole art of emotional manipulation down to a T)..So yeah, she commands a bit too much power..more than I am comfortable with...
Both Raj and Babita enjoy the amount of control they have on their children's lives and family affairs a bit too much...so much so that it is warranted for them to react badly when they feel like they're losing it...
Now, I know as parents, they have the right to have an opinion in their children's lives and perhaps even take decisions on their behalf to some extent.. but R and B take this line of thought to the next level through their actions...sometimes even crossing that fine line between balance and toxicity...
Well...I ain't no psychologist so my analysis will have to end here...But I do recommend an in-depth character analysis by someone who has learned psychology or just human behaviour in general...
