The fall of FL in each generation

The reason why Akshara was so famous in starting years was cos her character was built as close to reality as possible. She was shy, she cared for her parents, but she also spoke what was in her mind. Naitik and Akshara though not that tech-savy at that time clearly asked each other about marriage proposal on call before confirming it to their families. And the family bonding of Maheshwaris & Singhanias during initial years of show was created a standard. There was no villain in the show. There were people, who made mistakes, had insecurities, loved each other, but the confusions were never blown out of proportion. There was no need of stupid sacrifices to keep family together. Naitik stood for her wife when bhabhima blamed her and left with dignity. You don't have to be mahan to connect to the audience. There used to be confusions and misunderstandings btw akshara and naitik as well, but their characters were so well made, not perfect, but normal human.. so even when they disagreed, they never felt disrespectful.

Then comes naira, She had fierceness from the moment she was introduced, which was well appreciated. But once she got married, she gradually got reduced to doing stupid sacrifices, crying and literally only playing seperation-separation with kartik. And what a ML kartik was, to never support his wife. Naira too never made it easy for him by hiding things. But there was no trust btw the ML-FL to a point that it became repulsive to even watch the show. Even the supporting characters had short stories just to show FL mahaan.

Now comes akshu. The moment she got introduced she was already on her mother's sacrificing mode combined with her grandmom's shyness. Not a great combination i must say. Yes, there was a back story to support her nature. But honeslty, showing 10 year olds girl to remember her dead mother's wish to protect her sister was disgraceful enough in itself. The rest of the goenka family remain mute spectator to aarohi's meanness & akshu's needy behaviour towards arohi. I know its too early to label akshu but writers are moving with story at such quick pace, what can i say! I would prefer a FL who has self awareness and is not needy and please cut down on the crying part.

Akshu's lack of self respect makes me show daggers at her. I really can't come up with a strong trait she has yet. I like abhira but still writers have yet to show substance in her character has FL. And aarohi being shown a family loving person who is also a doctor never helped her sister professionally is what really made me dislike her character even more. The only savior of this generation are first Kairav and then abhimanyu. Kairav was right with his anger and talked with logic and evidence. He shows no bias btw his sisters and even gave abhi chance to prove his innocence. And we have abhimanyu - straightforward, gives no shit to pretenses, speaks up, trusts himself, and most importantly has self-respect.

PS: I might be lil bias towards abhi cos of HC. He was my first and permanent crush since KDMHMD.

Kairav is the best of the lot but sadly he is just a side character and just to be a bodyguard to his sisters. There won't be any story about him or his childhood trauma or his needs and aspirations.

Abhi is no-nonsense guy but I dislike the way his so called eternal love has progressed. Why didn't he talk to Akshu face to face once? Why not confess his feelings and gauge hers?

The writers are not interested in developing a bond, or understanding btw the characters. Like I said the writers are only interested in trp. Personally, abhira's so called love seems more like infatuation or crush. I understand why abhi's love intensity is so shown high from his POV - Her voice calmed him down like no other so he is drawn towards her and feels that is love.

From this generation I like mahima too , and vansh ..Neil is also good , Birla family is generally good ..Dysfunctional but i can connect to their problems. Abhimanyu is of course good as he has to be the backbone of the entire story .

Coming to akshara ..I won't say that she has no strong point ...enduring this kind of jealousy and bitterness for so long can have lasting effects on one's psyche... I love her perseverance...somebody's goodness is not their weakness...the one who bullies is guilty ...the story is spun around the leads..if they are perfect how will they write the story 😆

Akshara 1 , inspite of being an introvert , was well protected , well supported , well behaved well groomed by her family , specially her parents......akshara 1 was extremely confident and the best of everything....naira was more street smart coz in her growing up years she was away from the influence of her parents.. she was on her own and saw life very raw and from the roots ...

Akshus upbringing has been in goenka family who r actually shitty, probably after kartik they behaved themselves , specially dadi...arohi is more like them but naira has her mothers genes..other than that , she was suppressed and bullied by her half sister , who made her feel that she is never happy with akshara around...hence those panic attacks and these personality traits where she doesn't speak freely..she fears arohi will be hurt ...there is not 1 healthy relationship in that family except probably kairav and akshara..

I wish yr was more positive like it was during akshara naitik times..

I loved how you described the three leading ladies of the show. But I feel, Naira (obviously Sirat as well) is the worst. I agree with all your points.

But I feel, Akshara would have a character development in the future, at least she would be better than Naira. But the storyline is not at all catchy, it's too lame.

Birlas are dysfunctional but they are not at all interesting. Anyways, I am going to enjoy how they are going to insult the useless Goenkas in future. The pleasure is bliss.

Akshara as a FL remained more or less consistent. But Naira went from good to bad. She was introduced as fierce, street smart girl. And her character was interesting, especially her trauma and her equation with her mother. But once she got married to Karthik, everything was ruined. Both Kaira became so toxic, so irritating after marriage. I hope Akshu has an upward curve unlike her mother. Akshu's trauma, like her mothers is very relatable. She feels responsible for the death of a woman she considered her mother. She needed good counselling and therapy to get out of that. And the morons that Goekas are, I am sure they wouldn't have even thought about it. Now with Abhi's entry in her life, she will get the right guidance (mainly because he is a doctor) and a strong support system. I hope with his support, Akshu learns to stand for herself and shut down Aarohi's baseless accusations and drama. Akshu's character has a lot of scope to grow, if RS and team writes a better story.

Perfect post describing the 3 FLs and the downward trajectory that each generation has taken.

Akshara was also shy and docile but she had a strength and a voice - in her own way, she stood her ground and only became stronger with time. That was a relatable journey,

Naira/Tina was awesome. Naira, up until the shubham death track and 2 years separation track, was also quite good.

Akshu is a very basic FL, like the hordes of fls on itv. I enjoy her chemistry with HC mainly coz I adore HC. Other than that, I dont find her interesting. She’s just… there.

The third generation story looks like a copy from their own show… lol… The sister rivalry is taken up from yeh rishtey hain pyaar ke (Mishti vs Kuhu)… If they follow the same graph which they followed for Mishti, I doubt there would be any character development.., just few dialogue baazi here and there 😆 that’s it..

Abhimanyu’s character is reminding me of initial Kartik days.., He was also at least before marriage sensible, laid back and at times short tempered character… But post marriage he donated his personality and brain to God knows whom… Don’t know what will they do with Abhimanyu after marriage, which seems near..

Manjiri is another Suwarna… Abhimanyu and his father’s equation is similar to to Kartik -Manish equation … Manjiri’s elder sister / sis in law is another Daadi Goenka… 🤣

We should beware of where they will take the story … Of course only time can tell but looking at the copy paste of their own characters, the future story does not seem to be really out of the box… 😆

Karma! I somehow never felt remorse for goenkas in all these years. 😆
