I think it's most probably his spinlessness..his inability to face sumans confrontation. He might be afraid to say they didn't get divorced. (If they indeed play along without saying until engagemnt ceremony)

But if they do say.. and there is enough drama ..but suman says engagemnt will happen anyways..then i dnt knw..law and order kuch nahi iss badnazeeb jagah par. 🤓
