Ya Aish couldn't attract male audience to theatre. That's her biggest weakness. Kat won in that department. Men went to theatre just to witness her beauty and made her movies hit. Kat was no beauty queen yet she had that kind of impact on men which aish didn't 😆

DP is a million times better than Aish and that's saying something because she is not even that great herself

Deepika's strength has always been her acting. She is a hardworker so she always overcomes her shortcomings. I can only imagine someone like Tabu in her roles like Tamasha. She did the role with such maturity.

There is no question of Deepika being a "far better" actress than Aishwarya. If you compare their SLB movies side by side for an honest appraisal, and end the comparison there, Aishwarya is head and shoulders above Deepika in every single way.

Speaking of Deepika, she is many things but an extraordinary actor? No, she is not. She is a good model cuz she is tall, has a good body language, can dance, looks pretty and therefore can keep your eyes glued to her when she is on the screen but acting is not her strength. She has her moments in a few movies but her dialog delivery sucks and there's a lot left to be desired.

There are some movies where she shines but I still can't bring myself to credit her acting skills in them. Almost all her performances (excluding dance numbers) fall within the range of below average to average. At her best, she pushes the higher end of average.

With that said, there is no other reason to compare Ash and Deepika apart from the SLB connection. They're neither contemporaries and nor are they competing for anything. Female centric movies are niche and have a long way to go before they can be pitted against each other for their individual BO pulls. The day female actors start giving out blockbusters with their sole star power, we can talk.

Please allow me to interrupt with another possibility behind your theory of Ash not attracting male audience to theaters. Do you know this stubby old guy who likes to play almost God-cop, this silly ex of Ash who a lot of launde lapedes swear by and relate to in India and abroad? 😆 It's very likely they didn't go to watch her movies and went for Kat instead cuz she was the one making him "happy." 😉 Loyalty for the win.

Sounds illogical.

Why didn't they go and watch movies of sonakshi, daisy, zareen khan, sneha ullal to prove their loyalty towards bhai? Batao Batao.

Kat attracted audience on her own in her movies without bhai. I remember the rage she created back then. Everyone wanted to see more of her.

Neither are good actresses or have any Box office pull, but have the best PR team that fools the audience into believing they are popular.

When it comes to dancing Aish is better then Deepika, is more graceful.

It was a tongue in cheek comment, not really intended for a "logical" argument but more for humor, you know. 😉

But coming back to your Kat-Ash theory, setting aside the fact that they are a decade apart and item numbers weren't trending among lead actresses during Ash's time, how come no one flocked to watch Jagga Jasoos or Yuvraj? This thirsty crowd isn't very consistent, is it?😆 Did they not want to soak in her gorgeousness in those movies?

But hey, since this thread is about Aishwarya and Deepika, and not Kat, let's compare Deepika's "market value" among male audience too, for comparison purposes, shall we? No one went to watch Chappak. Gee, ever wonder why?!! Deepika must be really failing at attracting male attention too. 😆 What do you think she should do? Should she shed those clothes off and strip dance to Kamli Kamli Remix to lure them in? you know, to increase her market value that's diminishing day by day? So that she can "prove" to you and me that she can still attract men? 😆

I know how much aish fans like to 'pull my leg' because of my "theories"

But this male audience didn't flock to theatre to watch aish movies was said by someone else in this thread. No offense to the original commenter, I completely agree.

So see I was just adding to that.
