Shamita needs to understand the difference between assertiveness and rudeness. That'll help her in life.
Assertiveness is being confident without being aggressive (not physically but verbally).
Speaking up or standing up for yourself is a challenging task and I appreciate assertive people, people who know what they want and don't shy away from claiming it however Shamita is crossing the thin line that separates it from rudeness and this I cannot stand for.
Being assertive simply means the ability to express your point of view effectively and without disrespecting the other person. On the contrary, being rude means disrespecting other person , his rights, his views, etcetera.
And yes, rudeness can be characterized by sarcasm, anger and intimidation. Shamita uses all the above mentioned factors when talking to Umar
She just needs to express her feelings without disrespecting anyone who happens to not share the same.
Umar needs to a major confidence boost, the guy lacks majorly in that department and maybe a crash course on how to articulate his thoughts better so that he can put forth his points without losing their essence.
