Literally what I said in another post. Bear with me since this is going to be a long reply-
1) Some things I don't get about AK:
AK is supposed to be one of India's richest and most powerful, he doesn't have to take any of Shah's nonsense. There is a clear dichotomy in the way his character was introduced initially and is being written now and disappointed with the way they have shaped AK's character.
With him being Gujrat's richest businessman, he should be anything but helpless. With the kind of money, influence and power he has, it should be incredibly easy for him to f*ck somebody over in India and as far as the Shahs are concerned, AK doesn't even need to go full force.
Understandably he might be reluctant to do anything that may hurt Anu indirectly but are you seriously telling me that one of the top businessman in the country, presumably ruthless and shrewd (in his Business dealings at the very least to get where he is) would become a doormat to Shah's daily humiliation?
I get he doesn't want to go full force on the Shahs due to Anupama and that she would never support him, especially if it affects her kids in anyway. Surely, logically the first step would be to get them out of the way. Samar has already left the house and is more or less independent- if the dance academy isn't bringing in enough money, AK could easily get him employed in one of his ventures. That would leave Kinjal and Paritosh, striking a deal with Rakhi to get Paritosh on a leash and convincing Kinjal shouldn't be that difficult. Pakhi is young and still in school for her to be really affected by the ongoing drama at home. She could always move in with her mother if things get too rough for her at the Shah house. Once they're out of the way all he has to is get his legal team to pressure the Shahs into backing off and stopping their everyday drama.
A defamation case isn't something Anupama can argue against because she has acknowledged the Shahs haven't treated him right or even buying out the Karkhaana for that matter and allowing the Sha's to remain there and run their restaurant with the reminder that their livelihood can easily be take away if they don't watch their behaviour.
Honestly, I am kind of disappointed with the way they have shaped AK's character, I wish the writers would get their act together and start focusing on the quality and continuity of writing.
2) The love confession promo:
As for Anuj, him admitting he loves Anupama to the Shahs, I don't find it problematic since Anu wouldn't believe the Shahs. Vanraj, Kavya and Ba have been going on about Anuj being in love with her since his entry so at this point, to her it would seem like another one of those jealous rants, but Anupama finding out/overhearing him confessing does seem very premature.
It is very likely it could turn into one of those U-turn confessions where Anuj could always turn around and say: Yes, ok since all of you want to hear I love Anu and if that's what its going to get you to back off and leave her alone then yeah I do love her now back off and leave her and me alone.
3) What the writers have failed massively on:
IMO Anupama hasnt even been given the breathing space to live her life independently, adjust to her new circumstances and come to terms with life as an independent single woman. I wish the writers would focus more on Anupama's journey, her growth as an individual and how the dynamic between her and Anuj changes over time.
They could bring in the drama by showing the struggle she has to face by living on her own, working in a corporate environment, maybe she could go back to part time education or learn English and this could cause conflict with Pakhi as she joins the same college and becomes embarrassed by her mother. They could bring in Rakhi as a business partner for AK's Indian ventures and use that as a point for drama or get Vanraj to join AK's office due to the restaurant shutting down.
The possibilities are endless.
This is supposed to be Anupama's journey and instead of focusing on a venomous mother in law or a helpless father in law or the jealous new wife of her ex-husband, the primary focus needs to shift to Anupama and her journey with these characters stirring up drama every now and then. Once the focus shifts, it would be interesting to see the dynamic change between her and Anuj, albeit slowly and not as rushed as they are trying to make it currently
