Mithun Chakraborthy's son Mimoh will be making his debut with Jimmy, which will be hitting the screens on May 9. Bhoothnath starring Amitabh Bachchan is also slated for release on the same day. Won't Jimmy be in direct competition with Bhoothnath? Or Mimoh with Big B? "It is difficult to have a solo release in any week. Amit uncle is like God. I cannot imagine competing with him. I hope the audience likes both the films. I know how important it is for a film to do well after you work so hard on it. So I hope both films do well," says Mimoh. Jimmy's director Raj Sippy also does not think it is a wrong decision to release the movie on the same day. "Bhoothnath and Jimmy are from two different genres. So the question of competition does not arise," he says. In fact, the film was not supposed to release on May 9 earlier; it was delayed. "We were not happy with the finished product. So we made a few changes. We have added two new songs and polished a few scenes," Mimoh reasons. "Jimmy is a thriller. I play a car engineer by day and a discotheque jockey by night. I cannot reveal anything more about the story," he says. Mimoh will also be seen in Suniel Shetty's Loot where he plays a conman. He has a few other projects in the pipeline that he refuses to talk about at this point of time. We wish Mimoh luck for Jimmy. Hope it will not have the same fate as Saawariya when it had released with Om Shanti Om last Diwali. So do we see history repeating itself with the competition going strife between the newbies and the bigwigs of the industry? Amitabh Bachchan is confident about Bhoothnath setting the box office on fire. Although this movie is Vivek Sharma's directorial debut, Bachchan is sure about the success of the film. Bhoothnath is produced by BR Films. Amitabh Bachchan has had a rather long association with BR Films. "My movie Zameer was made by BR Films. So I cannot refuse their offer. Secondly, after reading the script, the story appealed to me," says Bachchan. Industry insiders are also confident about the success of the movie. The release of the film has been timed well. The summer holidays are on, thus a lot of children will definitely go and watch the film. And the, Big B will definitely help attract millions of people to the theatres. |
