Betrayal of one's own

You know Toshu has been a disappointment from the beginning. He's always taken his mother for granted, insulted her, degraded her and idolized his terrible father. Anupamaa turned a blind eye to that and still went above and beyond for him and his happiness. But look at what blind mothers and ignorant fathers create: Vanraj and Paritosh. Despite his many inconsistencies regarding how he feels about his mother, his behaviour now has really been the biggest betrayal to Anupamaa. Vanraj is her ex husband, Baa is her ex mother in law, Kavya is nothing to her. But Toshu is still her child. And for him to character assassinate his mother is beyond unforgivable. All three of the Baa Gang are paraya to Anupamaa, technically no relation but one of words exists. For kavya it's housemate, for Vanraj it's friend, for Baa it's mother. but technically they bear no relation and therefore bear no loyalty. Toshu made himself paraya to his mother and betrayed her in the most heartbreaking and unforgivable way. When outsiders hurt you, it doesn't hurt so much but to be hurt by your own is an unrivaled pain and Anupamaa needs to stop being a blind mother. She needs to recognize she is also a woman. And that means no one, not even her own son, can demean her ever again.

When he uttered those nasty words she was shocked like us all that he could stoop so low. But when he tried again she silenced him like she did the other idiots.

We love to see that kind of growth, so long as she never again allows him to worm his way back after shaming her. She's done it before ofc but now I'd like to believe it's a new era for her

brilliant post!

Toshu has truly been her biggest disappointment.

Like you said the other three who accused her don't have a relation bearing loyalty but Toshu is her flesh and blood and to see him shame his mother like that was the most hurtful.

Again shows what toxic parenting can do, Toshu was never Anupama's son his character's a spitting image of his dads

So well said!

Toshu has flip-flopped quite a bit and while he’s V’s son through and through … I expected him to keep a little bit of Anupama in him. At least some propriety.

His comment during the morning-after-the-storm was just too cheap and too low. My jaw was hanging open & he didn’t even show any remorse regarding it. thank goodness Anu cut that sh*t quick. 🙌🏼

Disappointing is an understatement, even if he did not agree with Anupama’s actions he should have stayed quiet! He is her child and has no right to question her in such a condescending public manner.

If he had genuine concerns he should have asked Anupama in a private manner. Like he questioned his Dad on the balcony when he first found out about the EMA.
I think Anupama should stand her ground and shun Paritosh for a while but like any mother I think her heart will soften over time and will accept him back but it needs to be on her terms. He needs to give her the respect that she deserves as a mother who has nurtured him all his life.

100%

Very good point.

Toshu approaches Anu likes she’s the criminal a majority of the time whereas V gets the benefit of doubt all the time. There’s no respect at all
