I agree. But this is Rani's first film in the "commercial" genre after more than 10 years.

Between 2011-2019, Rani has only worked in No One Killed Jessica, Hichki and Mardaani Franchise.

Even though all those were critical and commercial hits too👏, this one is her "return" in the true commercial genre.☺️ That's why people are excited.

Yes, this is why so many of us Rani fans are excited because as stellar as her acting was in the past decade, they were all non-commercial films, and we long for a throwback to the 2000s when she was a box office queen and issuing hit romantic films with chart-topping music like Saathiya, Chalte Chalte, Hum Tum, Bunty Aur Babli, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna. Her last successful romantic comedy was Ta Ra Rum Pum, which was way back in 2007, so it has been a long time coming and we fans are starved.

I would have appreciated this post if you hadn't dragged Ash . Coming to the topic I think actresses who have aged quite well are Madhuri, Ash and Rani.

I also find this disappointing that a thread that should be praise for one actress has turned into an attack on her contemporaries. It's one thing to favor one actress over another in terms of talent but some of the posts here have been outright rude and there is no reason to cross such lines. If you don't like Aishwarya or Preity or whoever, that is all well and gone but no need to drag their names here.

It has come as a surprise to me that being a fan of three such gifted actresses is so rare, especially since I grew up in the 2000s when all three were box office queens and the face of the industry. You would think there would be more overlap amongst their fandoms but sadly that is not the case, a lot of which is because of personal squabbles between the actresses, particularly Rani and Aish's infamous Chalte Chalte casting, which fans take to heart.

It's so nice to talk about Rani, Ash and Preity. It's like I traveled back to the early 2000s.

If it's not obvious from my username and avatar image, that is my favorite era. 😉

You're not alone.

I absolutely love Rani/Preeti/Aish.

They all have strengths & weaknesses, but I love all of them. 🤗

I appreciate Rani as an actor. I found her prudish, goody goody prospective wife and then housewife roles really annoying back in the days but she has really levelled up in my eyes the later half of her career. In saying that, she's always been a good, emotive actress no matter the role, even in roles I find annoying.

Both Mardaani 1 and 2 had me on the edge of my seat and were super cathartic at the end. I also don't think anyone can really match up to her performance in Hitchki, that was another mindblowing performance! I'll happily watch her next.
