I really missed Rani onscreen - Page 2

Very pleased that Rani is back on the screen as a commercial heroine which is where she shines best. I wish Preity would come back onscreen as well....Salaam Namaste 2 maybe???

My fav Rani movie was NKJ. I was too engrossed in the movie and fuming the 1st time I watched but took a more leisurely look the 2nd time.

I absolutely adore Rani as an actress.

and I actually keep saying that Rani's magic worked in Bollywood a perfect amalgamation of actresses who came before her. She could do emotional scenes like Kajol, be bubbly like Juhi, dance energetically like Karisma and could actually act powerfully like Madhuri.

She stood out from others.👏 Her voice became her trademark. Her chemistry with her costars was amazing. Her short height actually helped her because directors could comfortably cast her opposite Khans, Govinda etc.

I won't shit on Aish or Preity, because I've enjoyed some of their work too but as far as acting standards go, Rani is on another level.

Can you them or any other "mainstream" actress as Shivani Shivaji Roy? I don't think so.

Rani has done almost everything. Genres like comedy, drama, romance, action etc.

Leading roles, supporting roles, cameos etc.

Glamorous characters, ordinary characters OR non-glamourous ones.

The only role Rani has never done is of a villain. She did play a flawed character in KANK, but that's different.

I would like to see her play a negative character, I think she would ace that too. Something like Gone Girl😈

I would like say one more thing that whenever K3G is mentioned, Rani's name never comes because it was an extended cameo.

Although it was a cameo, it was one of the few "sober" characters in the film, unlike Rahul,Anjali & Poo😆

I loved this scene when she voluntarily walks away from Rahul.

I felt bad for her because she clearly loved Rahul, and he didn't give two hoots about her.

"Jabse mujhse yaad hai, Maine tumse pyar kiya hai. Bhot pyar kiya hai. Lekin ismein tumhari koi galti nahi hai."
"Agar main shaadi karna chahun, to zaruri to nahi tum bhi mujhse shaadi karna chahun."

Now these are some really good dialogues for a melodramatic film like K3G.

Also, if you notice, the BGM is from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. A nice callback to KJO's previous film.😆

Rani's Naina character was one of my favorites from K3G. I always thought she got the raw end of the deal. I've heard some fans say that KJo should make a spinoff movie on Naina on what happened to her afterwards. I know I would watch it.

I loved seeing Juhi as a villain in Gulaab Gang and I think it would be great to see Rani do a negative role as well. It's funny because many of her contemporaries have all done villainous roles (Kajol, Preity, Karishma, etc.) but never Rani. She's played flawed women before, sure, but never an outright villain and I think she'd have a blast.

Perhaps you know an Aishwarya from your community who you do not deem to be a good actress but thankfully I only know one Aishwarya and she is considered a screen icon and the recipient of two Filmfare Awards.

Mardaani 2 released in Dec 2019. This pandemic has made us look at 2019 like another decade altogether😆
