In that case Bollywood should stop making movies like Udta Punjaab.. If drugs is normal for Bollywood folks, why should it be problematic in Punjab and UP?

Drugs hi to hai, itna hype karke movie kyun banana,,,

Aryan leta hai, Annie leti hai to aur bhi normal hai..

NDPS should be revised...

"......Notwithstanding all the sections and provisions cited in the NDPS Act, Bollywood folks, their kids ,their family, everyone remotely related to them, anyone and everyone related to Maharashtra entertainment industry and Maharastra politicians, police and State machinery are exempt from all the sections and provisions of the NDPS Act..

Meanwhile I shall look forward to Aryan's Bollywood debut titled "Charas hi to Hai" and Ananya's next venture "Dum Maro Dum 2"..

I am little confused.

Kangana is right wing bhakt, court denied her plea. => Must be left wing .okay

Aryan is denied bail. He is default left winger, coz u know. => Court are right wing, bullying a baby.

Confused.

Confused again.

People are praising SRK's secular post. I am really happy. He actually is.

There were people who were abusing him for a post on Ganpati Ji, saying that it was a sin according to Islam

But only for photo-ops.

So even before this case came up..The Indian Government and its central agencies were in planning to make amendments to the act.

Last month, the Department of Revenue — the NDPS Act’s nodal administrative authority — had asked several ministries and departments, including the Home Ministry, Health Ministry, Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry, the Narcotics Control Bureau and CBI, to suggest changes to the law, if any, along with their rationale.

Avoid jail for drug users, seizure of small amounts: Social justice ministry

In its suggestion to review the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has recommended a more humane approach, avoiding prison, for drug users and addicts.

The ministry has sought decriminalising possession of small quantities of drugs for personal consumption. It has suggested amendments to the NDPS Act to treat those who use drugs or are dependent on them as victims, to be referred for de-addiction and rehabilitation, and not sentenced to jail.

How to Fight Drug Abuse in Youngsters: Crack Down on Suppliers, Build Affordable Rehabs

Cocaine, Mephedrone, Ecstasy are today as easily available as ice cream. Phone numbers of suppliers are in public domain. Rapid pace of life, lack of parental supervision due to long work hours can push children towards drug use. Despite multiple agencies tracking the ‘supply’, drugs remain easily available. Many parent groups, like the Naga Mothers Association, have tried to build a national movement against drug abuse. The audacity to hold rave parties reflects the lack of fear of the drug control agencies, writes Dr Harish Shetty.

Not so long ago, a 14-year-old was sitting in front of me and staring at the floor. The parents complained their son would often get aggressive without any apparent provocation. Twenty years ago, I would have tried to look into academic distress, parental pressure or teenage turmoil as probable reasons. This time, I first asked for a urine test for drugs.

The teenager tested positive for cannabis (a plant whose leaves give us bhang, flowering tops ganja, and the resin charas). Many hoodwink their parents by using the urine sample of friends who are clean.

The parents were shocked—they were caring and compassionate. The boy confessed that he was befriended by some older kids pursuing engineering, who got him to smoke weed.

Similarly, many parents get confused when they discover eye drops in their kids’ bags. Eye drops are used to mask red eyes, a result of cannabis use.

These are common stories across Indian metros. Most of these young boys and girls do not need a rehabilitation centre. They can do well with counselling because cannabis is largely not addictive and seldom causes dependence.

We need a massive ‘mental health movement’ that includes war against drug use. Schools need to have a progressive policy where the addicted child is viewed as a victim and provided support. Children should be imparted life skills and taught yoga and mindfulness to lead a healthy and productive life.
