Drabble #5:
Shiva tossed and turned in his bed, hoping for sleep to take over soon. His entire day had been spent in a tiresome manner and he felt all the energy in his body being sucked out of him.
The entire Pandya family and their relatives had arrived at their ancestral haveli two days ago to prepare for Dev's wedding celebrations. After that, chaos had ensued. People were bustling about hurriedly as they raced to finish all the preparations for the wedding and its rituals. Loud noises echoed in every corner of the haveli. Crashes were heard here and there as casual accidents with utensils occurred. The younger generation of the family was being demanded to carry out multiple duties all at once, much to their chagrin, due to the orders being thrown about by their elders. This had landed Shiva in a tough situation. For one, he didn't like taking orders unless it was from his mother or bhabhi...and maybe, just maybe...her.
As such, he spent the last two days working tirelessly with his mood taking a turn for the worst. In the evenings, they carried out some rituals which ended up taking most of their time till later in the night.
Shiva was exhausted. But despite having an exceptionally long day, he still found it difficult to just close his eyes and be done for the night. It was all because of her. As soon as he took a breather from all the work he had to do, she took it upon herself to dwell in his mind rent-free. He picked up his phone and looked at the time. 1 a.m. Would she be awake right now? It wouldn't hurt to try.
Shiva shrugged his shoulders and sat up in bed, giving her a call. Not even three seconds later, she picked up and hurled curses his way. Shiva bit his lip to control his laughter.
"Kya hai gadheda? Time nahi dikh raha? Itni raat ko kyun call kiya?" Her voice called out from the other end of the phone.
"Tune phone kyun uthaya? Isska toh yahi matlab hai ki tu bhi so nahi pa rahi thi." Shiva replied in an amused tone.
"Haan. Nahi so pa rahi thi, toh? Tujhse matlab?" Raavi asked haughtily.
"Ae chipkali. Zyada bann mat. Tu bhi jaag rahi hai, main bhi jaag raha hoon. Aakar mil na." Shiva demanded.
"Kyun? Do din pehle jab maine tujhse yahi request ki thi tab tu aaya tha? Nahi na? Toh ab sadh akele." Raavi replied, infuriated with her bhootnath's actions.
"Tu abhi tak wahi atki hui hai?" Shiva asked.
Shiva heard a frustrated huff from the other side and winced. His chipkali was a real spitfire when fury took over. He knew he wasn't going to get his way today.
"Mujhe tujhse baat hi nahi karni. Goodnight...nahi, badnight to you, bhootnath!" Raavi said and hung up on him.
"Yeh toh mujhse milne se rahi. Meri neend udha kar khud chain ki neend soyegi." Shiva muttered under his breath and got off his bed. He decided to take a walk on the terrace to clear his mind and catch a breath of fresh air. It should do him some good. Clad in his vest and track pants, Shiva walked off.
When he reached the terrace, he perched upon a bench situated in a corner and stared at nothing in particular when his eyes caught movement on the other end of the terrace. Everyone should have been asleep by now. With his interest now piqued, Shiva got up and slowly stepped forward. As his eyes adjusted to the moving figure, a mischievous smile broke out on his face. He could recognize that silhouette anywhere.
It was Raavi and she seemed to be wandering about carelessly. Shiva pursed his lips in contemplation when he realized she had lied to him.
"Mujhse milna nahi tha, par yahan khoob jam ke tehel rahi hai. Chipkali kahiki. Isse main abhi batata hoon." Shiva mumbled in annoyance. He looked up with a smirk and started sneaking over to where Raavi was.

Raavi walked up to the terrace and let out a breath of relief as she took in the fresh air. That bhootnath had ruined her sleep with his demand. She couldn't lie that it was indeed very tempting, but she was supposed to be upset with him, and thus, she carried on with her pretense. Giggling to herself while thinking about the expression he must've been sporting on his face when she said no to him, she slowly strolled across the terrace. The ambience up there felt amazing at this time of the night. She looked up and closed her eyes, basking under the calmness of the clear night sky.
She twirled around freely thinking nobody would be awake at this time. Suddenly, an arm gripped her wrist and she was pulled back and pinned against the closest pillar in a heartbeat. She parted her lips and a hoarse scream made its way out before it was muffled by a palm. Raavi looked up with slightly widened eyes before they narrowed into slits when she realized who it was.
Shiva threw her a devilish grin. He used his free hand to pull out the lighter he had taken from Krish to stop him from smoking. He lit it up and observed the flaming glow it extended towards her chocolatey orbs, the same orbs which were seemingly breathing fire at him.
"Mmmmmpphhh mmmphmmlhhph mpphhhhh!!" Raavi struggled against him as she tried to curse him. This only made him chuckle even more. The chuckle was short-lived when he felt her bite him.
"Ahh! Aeee chipkali! Tujhe main ghadiyal bulata hoon isska matlab yeh nahi ki tu naagin ki tarah apna poora roop badal le." Shiva glared at her.
"Main jo chahe kar sakti hoon. Tune apni harkatein dekhi hai?! Kitna darr gayi thi main. Jaan nikalne waali thi meri pann tu apne heropanti mein laga hua tha. Lighter aise jala ke dikha raha tha jaise koi filmy hero hai." It was Raavi's turn to give him a smug smile now. She blew out the lighter and took it from his hand, putting it back inside his pocket. When she took her hand out, she patted the top of his thigh and winked at him.
Shiva groaned and grabbed her by her waist and pulled her flush against him. "Tune hi bola tha tujhe filmy cheezein pasand hai? Ab bada attitude dikha rahi hai."
Raavi's breath hitched in her throat when his grip upon her waist tightened ever so slightly, sending a delicious chill down her spine. No matter how many times they ended up in the same position, his touch always sent her reeling into a whole another world filled with starry orbs and glittery skies. She snapped out of her trance when she felt him trace his finger along her jaw.
"Maine bola aur tune maan liya? Wah! Agar issi tarah meri baat maanta, toh do din pehle mujhse milne zaroor aata! Lekin tune mujhe jaan bhuj kar ignore kiya."
Shiva clicked his tongue in response. "Jaan bhuj kar ignore nahi kiya. Kaam se bahar gaya tha. Phir jaise waapas aaya, toh haveli ke liye nikal gaya. Bhabhi aur sab log toh nikal hi gaye the. Tu bhi unke saath chali gayi thi. Yahan aate hi, itna saara kaam sar pe thop diya ki phir toh saans lene ka bhi mauka nahi mila."
"Aur aaj toh mere mood ka bara baja diya unn auntiyon ne. Upar se tu mujhe apna woh suit pehen kar din bhar chhedh rahi thi. Tujhe kya laga mujhe tere inn iradon ke baare mein pata nahi chalega?" Shiva whispered, gazing into her eyes. He noticed her bite her lower lip and his thumb immediately took it upon itself to swipe across her lips. He couldn't resist her.
Raavi shivered under his touch and her arms made their way across his back and up to his shoulders until they were resting just behind the nape of his neck. "Kaisi lag rahi thi main?" She asked him cheekily.
"Apni tareef sunne ke liye bahut utaavli horahi hai nahi? Apni uss maasi se pooch leti jo poore din tere saath chipki hui thi aur unn ladkon se tujhe mila rahi thi." Shiva growled when he remembered the way those guys had been staring at his Raavi.
"Tujhe jalan horahi hai?" Raavi was amused, to say the least. Shiva was looking adorable with a frown on his pouty lips and his nose scrunched up in outrage.
Shiva scoffed in return. "Jalan aur mujhe? Nahi. Jalan tab hogi jab kisi baat ki tension hogi na. Aur mujhe toh koi tension nahi hai. Kyunki..." His voice changed into a deep and husky baritone. "..yeh maami ki behen ki beti toh meri hi hai." He whispered into her ear and placed a kiss upon her earlobe.
Raavi reveled in the feel of his words and her hands moved to rest upon his shoulders as she slowly leaned her head against him. Shiva pulled her closer and engulfed her in a hug.
"Tujhe pata hai main kabse tere saath kuch pal bitane ke liye taras rahi thi lekin yahan par koi akele rehne hi nahi deta." Raavi whined, her words getting muffled as she nuzzled further into his chest.
"Accha, issliye tu mujhe gaaliyaan de rahi thi phone pe?" Shiva snickered, receiving a slap on his shoulder in return.
Shiva's chuckles stopped when Raavi pulled away suddenly and started looking around.
"Issko har moment barbaad kyun karna hota hai bholenaath?" Shiva mumbled, looking up at the sky.
"Shiva?! Agar abhi koi hummein yahan ek saath pakad leta toh?" Raavi asked in paranoia.
"Tch. Sab so gaye hai. Itne thake hue the ki kisi ke muh se ak aawaz nahi nikal rahi thi. Unnki chinta mat kar." Shiva said as he walked over to the jhula they had recently placed on the terrace. He looked at Raavi and patted the space next to him, beckoning her over.
Raavi kept looking around but eventually walked over to where Shiva was. She was still hesitating when Shiva grabbed her arm and pulled her onto his lap. She let out a gasp and her arms instantly encircled around his neck.
"Yeh hui na baat." Shiva spoke as he wound his arms around her waist.
"Shiva..." Raavi whispered but was cut off when he kissed her lips softly. She kissed him back gently at first, before speeding up her pace in their fight for dominance. Shiva tilted her head and deepened the kiss, swiping his tongue across her lower lip. He urged her to open her mouth but she resisted. He could feel her smirk against his lips. Well, two can play at that game. He pinched her waist making her gasp instantly. Smirking slightly, he took the opportunity to explore the sweetness of her mouth. Their lip lock eventually slowed down to a rhythmic dance as Shiva stroked her waist softly while Raavi played with his luscious locks.
"Ab tu kisi aur ke baare mein tension mat le. Sirf mujhpe focus kar." Shiva ordered against her lips.
Raavi pulled away and pinched his cheeks. "Aw mere bhootnath ko attention chahiye."
"Chal hatt." Shiva retorted, but his tone didn't match his words as he tugged her closer for another kiss.
A few minutes later, a loud crash was heard followed by a faint 'Hay Somnath! Yeh kya dikha diya?' Shiva and Raavi jumped apart instantly and turned around to see what had made the noise. Their faces paled when they saw that Krish had seen them together and had dropped the glass of water he was holding in shock.
"Gayi bhains paani mein." Shiva muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose, as Raavi grabbed onto him in panic.
