रावण बनना भी कहां आसान... It was not easy being raavan

रावण में अहंकार था, तो पश्चाताप भी था Raavan had arroagance but he also had repentance

रावण में वासना थी, तो संयम भी था Raavan had lust but he also had restrain

रावण में सीता के अपहरण की ताकत थी, Raavan had the power to abduct sita

तो बिना सहमति पराए स्त्री को स्पर्श न करने का संकल्प भी था but he also had the resolution to not touch sita without consent

सीता जीवित मिली ये राम की ताकत थी, Sita was found alive, this was Ram's power

पर पवित्र मिली ये रावण की मर्यादा थी but she was found pure was because of raavan being in limit

राम, Ram,

तुम्हारे युग का रावण अच्छा था.. the raavan of your time was better

दस के दस चेहरे, सब "बाहर" रखता था.. all his 10 faces were visible

महसूस किया है कभी उस जलते हुए रावण का दुःख have you evenr felt the grief of the burning raavan

जो सामने खड़ी भीड़ से बार बार पूछ रहा था..... who asks the crowds in front of him

"तुम में से कोई राम है क्या?" is there a ram amongst you?

Thank you so much! This is actually a beautiful message, thank you for sharing.

My mum always tells me Ravan was killed because he exceeded his limits at one point, but also would continue to praise his qualities and say there would have been no one more powerful than him if he had a little control. But he did have control and honestly it was a fairer battle than others in history.

Thanks again, I think I'm gonna share this with mum.

@Bold, this is absolutely true.

I think the good thing with this generation is that they have started questioning things. slowly but surely.

My mom, even my dad, are very open minded and do not follow any stupid rituals or anything.

But somethings are so ingrained.

like, i remember once my mom had her chums and there was a pooja at my uncles place, she asked me to get the prasad and when i questioned her, she said, "mujhe nahi pata aisa kyun hain, lekin meri mummy kehti thi, aur ab adat si ho gyi hain"

When i grew older, and questioned her again, she realised that this has no logic and stopped following it. I never followed this stupid "ritual".

I can tell u the reason for this. Since puraane zamane main there were bigger families and lot of housework tho wen a woman got her periods she usually was asked not to do any work kyunki weakness ya pain etc wud be there. Also mood swings. So unhe aaram dene ke liye it was said pooja washing clothes vessels etc don't do. Lekin as generations went by iska Chinese whispers ban gaya and there was a stupid misinterpretation bas. It's got nothing to do with god or being impure.

One more u might have heard ki don't cut nails at night. Simple they didn't have electricity back then tho injury ke chances the that's y people used to cut nails only during daytime.

Thanks, I saw it. You're right, lots of things happen in Mahabharat because of faith. Krishna always tells them to have faith, to believe and everything would happen as it should.

Yeah he was the shashtri of the four Vedas and Upanishads .

He also dedicated a hymn to Lord Shiva still sung ten thousand years after he existed called the tandav stotram.

He is the first individual who mastered the veena and the creator of the instrument called as the raavan haata still played till date in Rajasthan.

It is believed to have been made from his bones and veins by him while he laid on his death bed waiting for death to come get him.

It is very that the music created from the instrument depicts the cries and pain of raavana.

Only common factor between raavana and lord Ram is that both worshipped Lord Shiva.

Another fun fact Ravana is actually a delhi boy but most mistake him to be from Sri Lanka as that was never his original Kingdom he defeated kubera in a battle hence kubera is in exile in the Himalayas.

I like how you casually call him Delhi boy 😂

But yeah, mum's told me all this except for the last one (thank you). He's one of the characters that she has a soft spot for I guess. It was one of the first instances I began to see negative characters differently. And now I wonder why Ravan was a villain at all. it's just how the narrative makes you see things.
