Awww 😆 Koi nahi, still watch it. I think everyone knew the ending by the time we reached the final weeks but the performances were top-notch.
I always felt Sultan did have many cliches of a rich guy like old money, lavish lifestyle, power but he was also intelligent, had business acumen and was very charismatic. He was also very firm on his morals and beliefs- example: he did not sleep with the woman who was getting him an important contract (they called it dating but that woman wanted to b@ng him 😆), he did not want to marry Narmeen, his cousin, and was very vocal about it even though there was family pressure, he knew his boundaries even when he first met Nageen.
His only downside was his anger and taking rash decisions in that anger.
Otherwise if u watch the show, initially he only wanted to talk to Nageen and asked for a chance. Even if she hd to say no, there is a way to do it...sis literally flung his business card on him and walked away. He did wait around patiently but she was always rude...phir usko aaya gussa aur ring wala kaand ho gaya. Udhar Sultan was at fault but wasn't Nageen to be blamed for her behaviour?
Then when u continue to watch, basically circumstance after circumstance everything is against him. When he loses his Bijaan, wife and his daughter is taken away from him, tab voh genuinely pagla jaata hai. Nageen then becomes his last source of redemption...because no matter Sultan's actions, Nageen ne bahot jagah galti ki and what's surprising is that she repeated those same mistakes initially with Haroon.
Even after he marriage there were certain blunders she kept on making.
Sultan blackmailing the doctor to abort Nageen's child was horrible writing, because as a viewer who analyses every bit from the Pilot, he was not that person. Imo the writers did it coz people continued to root for Sultan and ironically even in the end they rooted for him.
So to answer ur question...he was not a bad guy, he had grey tendencies and needed someone to understand him. Voh waise normal tha but because usko personal life mein stability nahi thi, he could've tipped either ways...unfortunately Nageen and his family tipped him the wrong way. He did deserve a genuine chance, but with a different girl, someone who understood him.
