Boys are given too much leeway. In a household like Chavans with Ashwini-Ninad as parents, the daughter would have turned into another Ashwini.

Exactly!!

Nobody teaches the boys to respect instead it's the girls who have to follow the norms

Yes. A child learns from his parents. Consciously or sub consciously they follow same patterns of behavior. Virat is so much like his family, that's why he thinks their taunts to sai is their "pyar and izzat" . I wish ashwini had the guts to leave this toxic environment and give the right message that respect is much above love.

Just loving someone is not enuf , respecting them is equally important .

Not generalising, but for sons that parent is mostly his dad. It's like he got his work done by this way all his life, this maybe the easiest way, let me implement it.

For Virat, those criminals are 'Dil je achhe bade'. Nothing can be expected from Ashwini, she started opening her mouth after Sai entered is enough for her.

Respecting a younger brash spouse is difficult for someone who is the chiraag of the most conservative family. Being hypocrite is in Chavan's blood.

Reason for patriarchal society and increasing crimes against women. If something happens to a girl, victim shaming is done, where were you, what were you doing out late at night, etc., however, the culprit us always innocent, ladka hai mann bhatak gaya hoga bechaare ka.

This is also a reason why women can't break free of toxic marriages, no one questions a man but everyone will question a woman. If a man is abusing, cheating a woman, it's all woman's fault somehow.

Actually, they are mirror to the society. It is difficult for a single woman to thrive. She might have issues getting a PG/ rented place, security issues. Even when you live in a different city, separate from your family, for work or studies, you do face issues. People do try to take advantage of situation. These shows are exaggerated, overdramatic, but somewhere true.
