You've heard of singing sensations stepping into the acting arena. But a small screen actor trying his hand at singing and walking away with a title!?! With the advent of celebrity reality TV, that's a real possibility and Amit Sareen, Kshitij of Kkusum to most, is now Sony's latest celeb star! Amit talks to Riya V. Anandwala about his success in the recently concluded Celebrity Fame Gurukul Expect the Unexpected! It definitely feels good, though I never expected this. I didn't ever imagine it in my wildest dreams. I never thought of pursuing singing as a career. Tough competition?
There wasn't really any tough competition. Yes, Tanaaz did a very good job. But I cannot call anyone a close competitor. The moment I had entered this show, I was all geared up. I had decided to give in my 100 per cent and here I am. Though of course I was not so serious about it. Where's the adulation? Hmm... Yes, you can say that my title got a little less attention. But it all happened in a dash; they had only three weeks time. But Tarun (Katial, Sony's business head) told me that there will be a concert held on 11 November, and I too will be singing there, along with Qazi and Ruprekha . I think this will the best way to compensate. The concert will be televised and be on air on 18 November. "I will take it as it comes" I never did think of singing even as a hobby. Now that this has happened I will be taking things as they come. But yes, I will take it seriously. It's an additional quality, which I have discovered lately. And I have already started a bit of preparations from now. What next? As of now, this concert. Other than that, most probably I will be cutting an album with Sony TV and BMG. Talks are going on, but they are quite serious of signing a contract with me.
