Not if released on Netflix 😆
That kind of movie is good only in theatres..
I think most BW movies are
Not in Phaasist Mudi's India.
Haha absolutely not. There was a recent jewelry commercial that depicted a Hindu girl and Muslim family family; and there were so much controversy and boycotts, they had to withdraw the commercial and issue an apology. Forget a full movie with a Hindu girl and Muslim boy
Well Akbar marrying Rajput princesses are true, though the whole love stories is imagination.
Akbar marriage was to build alliances and expand territory.
The movie as fiction was good though so there is a big chance that it would do well.
Filmmaker should look beyond Mughals.
Mughals is just a 200 year of India's more than 2000 year history
Protests and controversies will always be there because these hugely fictionalized subjects like JA and Anarkali misrepresent the history. Nothing wrong in protesting as long as limits aren't crossed.
There were protests against the film as well as the Zee serial by Ekta Kapoor. Apparently none of Akbar's 34 wives were named Jodhabai.

Akbar was liberal in many ways as most of his childhood was spent in a Rajput home. Bairam Khan’s first wife was also a Rajput woman. Her son, Rahim was a devotee of Lord Krishna who was adopted by Akbar along with salima (his cousin who was also Bairam’s widow).
Amer princess was still the chief Queen and not just because of her status as Mariam Zamani. She wielded considerable power at the time. Her family was given a lot of importance - like Raja maan Singh.. his daughter was married to Jehangir (also because it had political gains for Akbar). There were many another Hindu princesses too - but he never gave them that much importance and power. She must have been an extremely intelligent, beautiful and smart woman to survive the harem.
It may not have been so romantic like they show in movies for obvious reasons.. but she was still a chief Queen and was influential during her times, like Ruqaiyya & Salina.

Can't imagine it being released today without a lot of drama including insane three hour rants on prime time news about the vulnerability of Hindus and ofcourse attacks on the stars real or virtual
