Yet another post to reiterate what Devika said yesterday!

Phase 1 - Dhoka

Anu has suffered a number of dhokas in her life, here’s listing a few:

Early marriage- Anu was deprived of higher education and married off at a young age just cause they were a well to do family? she didnt know the guy she was marrying nor did she have a say in the decision.

Family trap- Once she was married she was deeply sucked into the family trap that never left her a moment to think about herself. Like she said herself that within a year of marriage she was known as Toshu ki maa. She diligently performed her biwi, bahu and maa duties whilst being cheated of all the relations she literally venerated.

Husband’s deceit- This of course was the biggest blow to her existence. Vanraj was never an ideal husband to begin with and she could live with that but knowing that he was having an affair with his colleague for 9 long years while being married crushed her. And to top this the snake of a MIL supports her son.

Tagged an inept mother- this probably hurt her the most being called masala something mum? Agreed she isn’t modern but being called incompetent or not worthy to be presented in front of a bunch losers of the elite class is a huge dent to her dignity.

She was always thrown into sticky challenges but she rose up to the occasion to save her worthless, ungrateful family time and again without expecting nothing in return. She was cheated on multiple accounts by many who took her for granted and was denied basic respect owing to her selfless, timid and exploitable nature.

Phase 2- Mauka

Enter Anuj Kapadia- Anu’s collegemate from 26 years ago who is all things nice!

Anu is given the well earned mauka to prove herself and set an example for many that may be inspired by her story of how she emerged a winner despite all the struggles and hardships she faced. She’s reminded of her talent and abilities to grow and achieve all that she wishes for. Anuj assures that she is deserving of the opportunity and that he isn’t doing her any favours by accepting her business proposal. He has complete faith in her skill, art and potential. Devika further drives home the point that Anu is worthy of every bit of happiness and respect that lacked from her life up until now. She motivates her to shed the numerous garbs she’s donned all her life to protect and please everyone and asks her to believe in herself as an individual who is entitled to having a dignified LIFE of her own!

Go Anu! maaro mauke pe chauka!

Sorry for the long post! and I’ve only gone by what I’ve seen and heard since Anuj entered the show, apologies if I’ve missed anything or misinterpreted the plot in any way.

Those were my two cents on the story so far, would love to know what you guys think.

Happy weekend everyone!

and happy 100 pages of the forum!!! 🥳

dont know if celebrating such milestones is still a thing on IF, it used to be huge years ago😆

Loved the analysis.

A family that prides itself on customs, traditions and respecting elders consistently derided her in the presence of her children. By pitting children against each other by pampering 2 and labeling the other loser they also denied her the opportunity to correct them when necessary. She has to demean herself every time to ensure that the children are not heart broken.

Vanraj yells at P1 when he is all set to move to the pent house that he has to speak to his mother with Tameez... When has he respected her or the institution of marriage? Vanraj had an affair with s married woman. So Vanya broke two homes two relatively good souls.

If there was an award for Dhokebaaz

Award of winner should go Vanya

Runners to Baba Yaga and Bapuji for not following through with the pursuing education of Anupama.

The superwinner in the making Paritosh. When kinjal thought it was love that made her choose him by accepting the offer of Rakhee of a job and later the pent house his reasons for the marriage seem considerations other than love.

Thank you!

Vanya are undisputed winners of the hypocrisy award, they've contradicted everything they question Anupama for..

Baa comes a close second cause yeah she's just blinded by her love for her cheapster dumbass jealous son

Toshu ka toh khud ka kuch dimaag hi nahi hai, he's just a clown who doesnt have a mind of his own and it only attracts negativity...jahan issues wahan toshu is haazir with his taunts ki potli.

OMG I didn't know this, so this was a big dhokaa by baa herself. 🤬 That's a disgusting lie to tell to someone who is expected to leave everything they have for your family. If a family is not prepared to allow their bahu to complete their education after marriage, then the boy's family should be clear and honest about it before the marriage is fixed. This is disgusting!

Beautiful post. I felt Anu became encapsulated in a family that would be.a typical family back in the soch that was "sadiyon saal purani." When she started seeing those opportunities, she became the target of backlash & whatnot. I loved Devika's words of wisdom of dhoka vs mauka, must applaud Jaswir for being so natural in that scene as a concerned & motivated friend. I lost hopes from Kinjal with passing time tbh as I felt she just wanted some form of motherly attachment that probably Rakhi might not have provided her (will admit, I liked Rakhi more than Anupama but later on she became more of a filler character to milk TRPs for TRP aunties/uncles😆). So, will appreciate that Devika hasn't been changed so far yet and gave her the damn right advise to move away from those toxic relationships. It's ultimately Anupama's choice, no doubt but problem is, she doesn't ponder properly over it despite the capability thus my criticism with the character.

I will sorta add Kinjal and Samar in the sense that they just do token defenses.

Baapuji at least had the guts to properly talk it out with Anupama otherwise it was just becoming a mahabharat on the breakfast table. They only came to support after Baapuji did the proper job of motivation.
