She had to fend for herself from day 1 - she has learnt how to mask her pain and put on a smile for others
But that doesn't mean she has less horrors in her past or isn't suffering
Rather she is soo strong and so mature that she hides her pain and still carries on
Both Raghav and Pallavi have baggage to drag with them. Pallavi has the strong phoenix kind of character so she tries to rise above everything she is pushed down. Raghav unfortunately has still not healed from the trauma of 10 years and hence he is self-doubting himself. Once Raghav is able to wade over this guilt then he will realize that he can be a much better person if he wants to and he will push to become that.
