Why is Anupama obsessed with Baa

Her love and respect towards Bapuji I can understand. Except for his decision of keeping her back in the Shah madhouse, I like him but I cannot understand Anu's obsession with Baa.

That lady is despicable to say the least. She has always ill-treated Anu, degraded her, taunted her ans never "loved" her as Anu claims then why keep her on a pedestrial? Why equate your own mom with such a vile lady? Why say you are more than my own mom for me? Why degrade your own mom in order to inflate her ego?

Also how dare Baa call herself Anu's mom? Why insult all the mothers out there?

I guess Anupama has some sort of syndrome where she just wants to keep praising Baa and telling her you are so much to me, you have done so much for me. Blah blah

Her Baa jaap would have been digestible if Baa would have actually loved her or did something for her but all she has done is keep Anu tied do that they keep getting a n unpaid servant

ANU respected and loved her mother-in-law till date, all because Anu gave her the same status as her mother. But it seems that the double dholki Baa is not worth it.

I m 101% agree with Devika Going against her son, Ba supported Anupama only because she could not support her son even if she wanted to. Only hEr son Vanaraj matters the most for her.

Because anupama ko insaan pehchan na bilkul bhi nahi aata hai !

That is the main reason 8-9 saal anupama ke husband ka ghar mai aane-jane wali Kavya ke sath affair chal raha tha fir bhi anupama biwi hote hue bhi Kavya/Vanraj ke true intention ko pehchan he nahi payi which is not common case for wives 😆😆😆

Abhi anupama ko itne saal baad bhi Leela ko pehchan na nahi aata hai jo iss forum mai har member ko Leela kaisi insaan hai samaj aata hai ! 😆

Anu's own mother is no less. She got her daughter hitched without even telling her, instead of letting her get an education or at least taking her consent. When Baa & Vanraj started treating Anu like a slave immediately after the wedding, she never took a stand for Anu. Instead, she kept asking Anu to adjust. In 26 years, that woman spoke for Anu just once. No one deserves a mother like that. She was a weak woman who wanted Anu to be weak too. The only positive thing about her is that she accepted her mistakes. But acceptance doesn't change the past. It doesn't undo abuse.

And even Baapu ji.. He loves Anu so much that he emotionally manipulated her to live in the same house as Vanya. Why? Because he wanted Anu to continue serving them. For all his lectures, that man has never offered her a glass of water. He has never asked her once if she takes her meds on time. For 26 years, he didn't even realise that Anu's incomplete graduation was his fault too.

No, Anu's mom is less. She acted like how any other mother of her time or in her circumstances will act. Even till today and even in metro cities parents are more concerned about a daughter's marriage than her career so when she thought a good rishta has come, she married off her daughter. I won't blame her but the circumstances and environment she was in and how do u think she would have taken a stand for Anu against the mighty Shah's and especially Vanraj Shah?

Wahi toh kyun manti hai Baa? Kya kara hai Baa jaisa Leela ne? Just because there is mother in MIL that doesn't make anyone automatically your mother. Kuch toh karti kabhi. Anupama ki soch hi galat hai. Respect usko do jo respect ke layak ho.

Ye toh wahi baat ho gayi you keep loving your abuser or you stay in an abusive marriage because your husband "loves" you.

'Society' is just an excuse for the weak minded. I have heard of many stories of single mothers & financially weak parents who stood up for their children through the ages. My own grandma's father broke off her engagement because her fiance didn't want her to get an education. This happened while India was undergoing partition & their family was extremely poor and homeless. Plus they had 7 kids to take care of. So they were in a much worse condition than what Anu's mother uses as an excuse. Recently I read about an uneducated single mother in a Rajasthani village who not only fought to keep her girl child alive, but now stands against the whole village to get her proper education. Their village doesn't even have electricity or roads, but it has self respecting, strong women.

If your child is being abused and you ask her to live through it, you're a shitt¥ parent & human being. Anu's mother ruined her life just as much as Baa. Buraai dekhne wala buraai karne wale jitna hi galat hota hai. Waiting till Anu's graduation wouldn't have dried up all the good rishta's in the city. People are suckers for pretty girls from poor homes.

And Bapuji.. That a$$ emotionally manipulated Anu to cohabitate with Vanraj. He literally said it's because no one else will take care of them. He merely behaves decently with Anu like most normal FILs do. But in this sick household that basic stuff looks like he's doing something great.
