He follows Anjali from her SRGMPA days (which she won with Shreyan). He is very close to Shreyan Bhattacharyya and Sonakshi Kar from that show, In fact he wrote a few days back that he hopes that Sonakshi's exams get over by October - presumably so that she can take part in SRGMPA seniors this year.
Strangely SMP was part of the same SRGMPA lil champs - he did not follow her then.
Oh yeah Sonakshi Karr. I like her so much but I want her in Indian Idol more than SRGMP.

Maybe true for Nihal, though I doubt it. I think it restricts Nihal's availability in some southern markets.
The shortlist is done before the finale. In fact these guys recorded the promo clips on the night of the finale.
Maybe something to do with the nature of the audience and the overall flow of the show evening. I find most of the audience in such meets are happy with old nostalgic numbers and a few peppy ones from current hits.
But SMP will eventually do solo acts in international markets. With or without Sony.
