The makers are ruining Pallavi's character. I understand that they want to show a clash of ideals and I like that because I don't see how someone who values themselves on being a law abiding citizen can be happily married to someone who has no problem with bending the rules. But the way they are going about it is weird. I mean they could have skipped the lecture in this episode and just stuck to her saying the gift is too expensive and I don't think I can handle it. That would be understandable. Instead of showing her shocked due to tax evasion I would have liked it if they had shown a boy like Nikhil gets arrested for being involved in the smuggling. Raghav does bail him out but Pallavi panics and the conflict begins. Her lecture on middle class values was bad writing.
Also they could have spent one minute showing her replying to Raghav's tum theek ho with haan mein theek hoon, tum bhi theek ho na? Or telling him to not even think about killing himself for her ever again because she can't live without him.
I know many people have found that lecture about middle class values off putting and it was to some extent. It would've been more widely acceptable if they had resttricted that to her getting shocked at knowing the worth of the necklace.. Raghav also didnt have to tell her the actual market price and then how much it cost him.. its a gift for her.. why would he want to bring up the price. It was a lame attempt by makers to set the ground for the next track.
@bold - she already told him that in the previous episode.. not exactly the same line but something along it...that how was he planning to spend time with her if he was going to kill Mandhar and go to jail? Dont remember the exact lines right now.. Having said that, yes I will say that it would've been nice to have them talk about everything before they started the date.. She had promised him that she wont let her past come in their way and that she would never let anyone come in between them but his fears did come true to a large extent.. I wanted her to tell him what she told Ayi and Amrutha.. not apologize but to acknowledge his support through all this.. it wasnt easy being in his position either.. they needed to talk about all that before moving on.. but I still enjoyed their date because of their chemistry, wont deny that.
