Aastha and Shaan walking together reminds me of the film Andhi and having Tere Bina Zindagi se shikwa...playing sends us in another period. Two mature person still in love with each other.

Shaan had to beg Aastha to walk with him. I had a feeling that Aastha is keeping a grudge against Shaan for not having supported her 25 years back.

Agreeing to walk to the library, that place has a lot of emotion attached to it, looks like the library is the cocoon of love for the Shaan dynasty.

During the conversation both Shaan and Aastha were justifying their decision and trying to convince each other that they had no choice, For Aastha it was a matter of Swabhimaan.

Has these two ever thought about their son?

Instead of feelling sorry for them I am more and more angry at both pf them.Specially when Aastha tells Shaan it is time to think of our son and not us. After 25 years? Where was your mother's feelings... I know she mentions that later she used to observe him from far etc, but even then she thought of herself not her son... She gives the impression of someone strong and fights against injustice but not for her son...

Both Shaurya and Shaan are similar, once they fall in love they fall really very bad. However Shaan is the majnu type to wallow in pain while Shaurya is the type to fight for his love. Thank god...

It was good to hear Shaan accept that he failed as a father, but Aastha showed none...

Anokhi is at the moment on cloud nine and just the sight of her father has her turn to stone. So strong is Rami Bhallah's presence.

The way Anokhi was hugging the ID, For her this is the first sign of her freedom to learn and do something for her close ones, her mum and her didi.

Finally Shaurya, who looks smashing in this pink suit, sees Aastha in Anokhi. he is unable to separate the two. All the frustrations will unfortunately be on Anokhi who represents his mom.

To him, Anokhi is to be blamed for him not getting his parents attention and love.

This dialogue just hurts my heart. All he yearns for is love, attention, consideration!

This right here is my biggest issue with Shastha. I find it hard to root for their happiness because they come off as such selfish human beings. You get to have an self identity apart from being a parent but you can't have one forgetting you're a parent. That seems very unfair to the child you brought into the world.

Instead of feelling sorry for them I am more and more angry at both pf them.Specially when Aastha tells Shaan it is time to think of our son and not us. After 25 years? Aastha is weird. Her righteousness is only for others. It's convenient.

True! It's because Shaurya has some Aastha in him. Shaurya also was a little majnu when he ran away to Goa to sulk!

It was good to hear Shaan accept that he failed as a father, but Aastha showed none...

Shaan says the words but there's really no regret in his action. They know something went wrong but are too busy blaming each other to take blame for their own parts in it.

The way Anokhi was hugging the ID, For her this is the first sign of her freedom to learn and do something for her close ones, her mum and her didi.

Anokhi's happiness is so infectious. And as a viewer we saw her arduous path so we're so invested in her success!

Finally Shaurya, who looks smashing in this pink suit, sees Aastha in Anokhi. he is unable to separate the two. All the frustrations will unfortunately be on Anokhi who represents his mom.

I hate that he displaces his anger onto her, but it's understandable when she looks like his replacement. His parents treat her like a child, forgetting they have a child of their own.

I have been feeling really angry with them and same here cannot accept their reasons for abandoning their child.

Aastha is weird. Her righteousness is only for others. It's convenient.

Aastha treats Shaurya as a Sabherwal man not her son. that is her problem. She married into the Sabherwal knowing full well how they are and at the first problem, left the sabherwals..

True! It's because Shaurya has some Aastha in him. Shaurya also was a little majnu when he ran away to Goa to sulk!

๐ŸคฃA sulking Shaurya is better than a drunk one..

Both Self indulgent and then having bouts of responsibility towards a stranger not their son..

Shaurya does not have anyone to vent his anger on and for him hurting her is same as eradicating any feelings for his parents

What am I asking you? "Thoda sa waqt". Gave me post-sindoor shaadi feels. I see a parallel that needs to be made. Who makes those parallel videos in the fandom?

๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Wow you fished a Shaastha-Shakhi parallel!
Akshu, Deepshii, Bhavi .. who can help with this please?

Shastha is cute but also maddening to listen to. They like to talk in circles and just blame each other; mainly Shaan likes to blame Aastha for his own shortcomings. He tells Aastha her decision was impulsive and she was wrong not to accept help from Tej and even blames her for how Shaurya turned out. He doesn't understand the difference between abhimaan and swabhimaan. He doesn't understand that Tejvi's help is a karz for life. He doesn't understand that his actions for the last 25 years played a part in who his son is.

Shaan seems to absolve himself of blame for not being enough for Shaurya because he wasn't the mom. And this really makes me mad. I'm not devaluing mothers. Society has been set up for mothers/women to be the caretakers. But Shaan's statement is an insult to the single father or the gay father. Children grow up in homes without a female present and don't end up broken and angry like Shaurya; Aastha stating facts! The problem is the Sabherwal guroor!

As much as I donโ€™t understand that Shanโ€™s blind loyalty towards his cold-hearted Big Brother and Bhabhi, I also donโ€™t understand Aasthaโ€™s reasons as to why she didnโ€™t fight hard for Shaurya. Whatever she did do to get him back was obviously not enough. Meanwhile Shaan just drowned himself in self-pity , refusing to play any role in his own childโ€™s upbringing. ๐Ÿคช It really pains to see Shaurya caught in the midst of a totally avoidable, unfortunate breakdown of his parentsโ€™ marriage.๐Ÿ˜•

As Anokhi replays her road to SIAC with happiness and they played Teri Dastaan.

Khwabon ki nagri haqiqat banane, Jo aye dil ik din ka ye qissa nahi

Khud ke hone ki paheli suljhane, Jo aye dil ik ka ye qissa nahi

Kadamon mein jamaa jo thakaan, Chain ki neendein aati wahaan

Itni suhaani banaa, Ho na purani teri dastaanโ€ฆ

Chanda tak pakka sa rasta banana, Jo aye dil ik din ka ye qissa nahi

Band dil baahon ko hai khulna sikhana, Jo aye dil ik din ka ye qissa nahi

Ho na purani teri dastaanโ€ฆ

Shaurya also remembers with bitterness Aastha's words and he makes a promise.

"Tumhari umeedein, tumhari iraadon ko mein kamyaab nahi hone dene wala. Sapne jo woh aurat ne sirf tumhare liye dekhi hai, jo kabhi mere liye nahi the kya?" It started off with anger and dissolved into heartbreak. He mentions again in the sorry episode that his father supports his mother but he's nowhere in their story and no one thought of him. It's his biggest complaint that he wasn't important enough for his parents.

Poor Shaurya , his misplaced anger, jealousy and frustration was all directed towards Anokhi. How much he has grown as the story progressed ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
@bold

That scene and the flick of his teardrop still lurks in our heads no?! He says similar dialogues during the post Tu zaroori scene as well. His feeling that he was a nobody, unwanted and stuck between his parents and BP/BM was so well done.

Also, it's funny how he starts with wanting to break Anokhi's dreams and being mad at Aastha's care. He will eventually receive that mother's care which allows him to truly stand by and support Anokhi as she achieves her dreams. He's got a path to walk!

Side note:

~ Why does Shaan's wajood lay with Tejvi??

Lol exactly what I wrote too! I donโ€™t understand this. Heโ€™s smart, he understands whatโ€™s going on yet still why? I guess at the end of it all, like they say โ€œ Blood is thicker than waterโ€ ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

~ The SHAAN AASTHA carving was cute. I always wanted a SHAURYA ANOKHI one somewhere in the library too.

~ Anokhi showing her mom around SIAC was so cute.

Precap: Ragging begins. I'm soooooooooo excited. The hug is what caused me to binge this show!

@bold

Ouff one of my favorite scenes! I remember feeling so bad for Anokhi and when the hug happened, it was the most calming thing for both of them. ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m in all different colors ๐Ÿ˜€

Love discovering parallels even now. How will I ever get over this show?

I'm so in the rewatch right now that I'm sooooooo sad for Shaurya. His pain is so palpable and he is so misunderstood by his parents. Shaan keeps seeing the anger, but not the hurt behind Shaurya's attitude and words.

Shaurya's hurt has been consistent through out. He has clear abandonment issues and the people who abandoned him were never willing to fully accept their part in it and remedy it.

Also another parallel between admission day promise to sorry day to tu zaroori day. It went from anger to resignation to visible pain. And once he shared with the pain with Anokhi, it had it's cathartic effects.

Y'know how I couldn't forgive Shaan after the whole Goa and kidnapping. During the rewatch I've discovered a whole new level of anger and irritation for Shaan.

Ragging is coming!! The hug is coming this week! I'm sooooooooooo excited. I will fangirl over the cinematography of that scene!! The music! And the emotions it brings up!

This is so true. Actually if you notice one thing..Shaurya is a lot like his mother but he loves like Shaan. Deep and without reason. The kind where you never forget a person. (Just that he takes a stand too)

Okay, absolutely true. But the fact is shaan too was raise in the saberwal environment. So the influence has to show. He was raised with privilege. Even today, he is just looking to get Aastha back. I did not understand when shaan apologised did he even mean it?

Shastha were bad parents. Period. If Aastha was stopped from meeting Shaurya..shaan never ensured that something like that did not happen. Again Shaan's 'saberwalness' is coming out here. Also, how dare they comment on how shaurya turned out when they never made an effort to raise him. Even today..never made an effort to connect to him post Anokhi got admission. Till 18th sabs could have legally blocked aastha...when stopped her post Shaurya turned 18?

As Anokhi replays her road to SIAC with happiness and they played Teri Dastaan.

This felt so real. Even I did this for my college๐Ÿ˜†. I have always loved the music in this show. Always on point!

Shaurya also remembers with bitterness Aastha's words and he makes a promise.

Imagine for 25 years you thought your mother left you for a career and she did not love you enough only to realise that she is quite capable of taking a stand and loving someone. Ita just not you! His bitterness is real and here you can feel it!

"Tumhari umeedein, tumhari iraadon ko mein kamyaab nahi hone dene wala. Sapne jo woh aurat ne sirf tumhare liye dekhi hai, jo kabhi mere liye nahi the kya?" That line was so real! He was failed as a child! And you know, I honestly thought he would create problems for her on purpose but he surprised me aa he did not do that. He was mean to her yes but still chose the high road!

Side note:

~ Why does Shaan's wajood lay with Tejvi?? This mystery died with S1

Very true. Shaurya got the best of both in a way. From the beginning we've seen his righteous side which was Aastha-like. Once Anokhi came into his life, we saw how loving and loyal he was like Shaan. His outspokenness and standing up for his wife that came after marriage really set Shakhi apart from Shastha!

Okay, absolutely true. But the fact is shaan too was raise in the saberwal environment. So the influence has to show. He was raised with privilege. Even today, he is just looking to get Aastha back. I did not understand when shaan apologised did he even mean it?

You make a great point. If I can understand Shaurya for his shitty upbringing and Devi's brainwashing, I guess we can give some leeway to Shaan. I just hate that Shaan feels entitled to scold his son.

Shaurya did not questions Aastha enough for me. I had the same question as you. If Aastha feared the Sabherwal power and the legal fight, why didn't she approach her son after he turned 18? If she could attend events when he was child, did she attend his graduation or other events when he was older? If so, then why didn't she talk to him. Why did she wait 25 years, until he showed up in Gurdaspur? The least she could do was talk to Shaan and get updates on her son.

This felt so real. Even I did this for my collegesmiley36. I have always loved the music in this show. Always on point!

I've talked about this scene sooooooooo many times over the last 5 months and still don't get tired of it. I just looooove the entire admission sequence with Shaurya and Aastha. Shakhi is always first in my heart. But the Shaustha relationship is the one I was whole and soul invested in.

And just like you, I thought the negative shade of Shaurya would come out in tormenting Anokhi. I was so brainwashed by ITV where that's what male leads do. They mess with the female lead until they forcefully marry them. And from early promos, Shaurya looked like he would have a little negative shade. But he was a surprise. He held his responsibilities as professor and director over his vengeance. Also, Anokhi broke down his wall and proved to be different than who he imagined. And once that man fell in love, there was no going back!

Totally true. Also was it just me who felt Ramesh Bhalla was dejected and not angry anymore. He has not realised what his daughter has done but feels breaking of his "false man pride" has kind of broken his spirit.

Ramesh Bhalla did look defeated. Your point makes me realize that the show did a disservice by ignoring the Bhallas after Aastha's shooting.
