It’s so funny you said this because when he lived with Sussanne her taste ran to what I would consider extreme over everything! I thought she had terrible design skills (she’s improved IMO of late) - and this house the first thing he’d decorated without her was comparatively simple, uncluttered, and unpretentious. I love great minimalism too but it’s really hard to pull off in real life without falling into prosaism or coldness. And even if you can pull it off you’d better have a vast space so there is enough room to “hide” the clutter that you cannot avoid if you have kids. (If there is anyone out there who knows a way to lose the clutter without losing the kids, I NEED LESSONS!!)

I’ve lost my sense of taste and smell completely. Everything I eat or drink taste like nothing. So I can’t even entertain myself by eating 😐

You have a valid point. I sometimes forget that he’s a father of two. 😆 I suppose that’s why John’s house is so empty and as you put it, ‘cold’. Just looking at his house, you’d forget he even has a wife. The house looks like it’s owned by someone whose single.
