I believe today's digital generation like Akshita, Suhana Khan are better at handeling these things. I feel Akshita would be better than Param at handeilng SM trolls. Most of us are 90s kids and tmany times feel repulsive about teenagers on SM doign tiktoks and all but there are few things which we can learn from them.

We definitely have so much to learn from kids nowadays. They are far more aware of what is happening around them and are taking action to bring about change. The BTS fandom is one I am in awe of and scared of. šŸ˜†

Let me commit blasphemy by saying this: KPOP is so manufactured and artificial, its more like band versions of the 90s but without the authenticity. It’s a fad now and will disappear in 10 years or so - not from Korea but probably other countries šŸ˜†

I watched several k dramas but most of them are same rinse and repeat.

Also they are so similar to western shows.. also I I don’t understand.. do Koreans don’t have their own music? It’s just western music and pop stars just packaged differently and sold as kpop

I think it is totally different for us (90s kids) and todays generation. We have seen the life before this digital boom and SM. So we are kind of immigrants to the digital world but new generation is native to this SM and digital world. For them it is the reality. Definitions of real and virutal have changed and lines got blurred. It will merge in near future. I highly recommend Black Mirror TV show if you have not watched it yet. It explores digital revolution in future and how humans will change. It is a bit dark.

On surface I used to also think that on SM it is fake, but is it? When I think of it deeply, I come to think of what is the definition of reality? For example, Even in real life we are different with different people like with family, with friends, with boss, with colleagues we behave differently. Atleast I am like that. It is not that I fake it but inhenretly I beheve differently with differrent people. But who is real me? I think every aspect is just one layer of your reality. My IF personality as anonymous is not fake, it is still a part of me. I do not discuss ITV shows and this ParaKshita shipping with my real lifešŸ˜† This exists only on SM but I wont call it fake. In a same way SM is just one layer of reality for today's generation.

Things have changed. I strongly think we will go all digital and virtual in a decade or so. Covid has expedited the process.

I've never listened to them, but their fandom is next level. I'm sure there are academic papers written on them or in the process of being published. So much to disect.

I've watched k dramas. I've only watched the rom coms for entertainment. šŸ˜†

I love this forum for the same reason , most of us don't agree with each other but we still maintain a common ground never cross the lines ..I am completely moved on from Ishqaan and Parakshita still I am here just to chat with you guysā¤ļø

I have personal FB and twitter which I use only for talking about politics and many social issues. What I realised on SM is that people make posts only when they have a strong and emotional attachment to the topic. For example, if I feel strongly for some womens' issue, I make a post on FB. As I am emotionally attached, I am not always rational and use strong language in my post. Then other person with opposite opinion also reitalitae it with strong language. Many humans have moderate opinions on many topics but we don't share it or talk about it on SM. We only share when we are emotionally charged and has personal investment in that topic. The debate turns ugly as other person also keeps getting rigid. I have seen this on FB account with many of my friends who makes posts when they are extremely against goverrnment's some actions which affect them personally. Their posts then seem to have strong language and bias. But in real they are very moderate and understanding about 100 other things but that just one thing is their weakness. And they choose SM to take out that frustration. This is what makes it worse on SM.

Here on IF, we started talking about things where many of us have moderate opinions so we listen to others and are not emotionally overwhelmed. Then once that bond forms we can even tolerate strong/extreme opposite opinions of others like we do with family and friends. We dont agree with family and soemtimes have very opposite views but we dont go and abuse them like we do on SM.
