It didn't even come across well. Like from an acting perspective. I feel like had she just picked up the stick and waved it but not hit him, and he'd just pulled her into a hug, it would have come across a lot better.

yesssss. I actually wouldn’t have minded a few frustrated light slaps on the shoulder or pushes on the shoulder and then him using his large arm span just traps her into a comforting hug. I hope what I’m picturing in my head is coming across in my words. Do you guys get what I mean?
That kind of physicality screams less abuse than picking up a danda. The broom scene was never that bad to me bc it’s lightweight. But sticks. I got issues with sticks.
Hopefully the outrage from everyone else was large enough that they won’t show that on screen anymore. For me, it didn’t really do anything for the scene itself. Her anger was pouring out regardless and his remorse as well. Esp for leads, if they’re having a serious moment, let it be serious. These two have the acting chops to handle a fully serious, emotional scene.
