Neil and Geet share a lovely bond in no time. He such a sweet heart ♥ and innocent. My heart goes out to Neil. He is in a broken family. Looking forward for more interaction between them.
No doubt Maan loves his nephew.
Geet getting bolder with Maan finding her voice 😄
Police visiting Maan. Interesting to see how Maan will respond.
Chapter 10
A Feisty Chapter
I liked Geet's confidence speaking and asking Maan questions
well she indeed was concerned about Neil
and wanted to know why his father would send him to Maan
Maan threatening Geet , though she was filled with fear but she managed
to show her annoyance and concern for Neil
Maan actually spoke to Geet though just in few words about Neil's parents been divorce
I'm actually hoping for a day when Maan enjoys Geet's talks
Just read the chapter 1
Loved it
Chapter 10
Omg how much more sweet could this be.... Awww they're soooooo cute I can almost imagine a some what happy family... You know with Maan and Geet being parents with a kid like little Niel here....😍. Oww 😲 now that explains why he doesn't have a mother.... Aww 🥺 I really feel sorry for the kid... He's a brilliant one so smart and..... Lonely 🥺. Anyway bichon bich me Maan Singh Khurana ka bhoot guss gaya kya Neil suddenly itna serious kyun hua... And Geet surely you'll have to think allot before challenging the MSK you want to escape from there... Not spend your eternity there. I really could imagine the scenes of ghsp when Geet said "yes sir"? And Maan with a " Miss Handa" 😂 that was hilarious and what's with the police visit at Maan's castle... I'm not gonna call it a house cause it's a freaking huge castle and you get stuck in it.... Overall it a fantastic update...🤗
❤️
thanks for the regular updates....
Chapter 10
Splendid update..... excellently written
enjoyed the convo between Geet and Neil
he is such an adorable and intelligent child....
seems like Maan keeping an eye on Geet.
liked when Neil said Geet is beetle-ful.
did Maan have to be so sarcastic?
Geet and Neil already share a lovely bond
Geet's questions were expected
loved her concern for Neil
of cos Maan would not put Neil in danger
not surprised that Maan noticed that Geet is no longer timid
sad that Neil's parents are separated, his dad has no time for him while he hardly sees his mom
well Neil certainly needs love
Geet indeed connects with Neil in this regard
as expected Maan is annoyed with Geet's accusations.
great that Geet was not scared of him.
glad that Geet wants to help Neil
Gosh the police are waiting for Maan
what will he do?

Hello sweethearts! So grateful that people have been reading the story. The next chapter is below!
Chapter 11
Before Maan could say another word, a police officer stepped out from the cruiser. Maan was silent as he exited his own driver’s side door, leaving Geet to wring her hands in her lap from indefinable anxiety. The officer had salt-and-pepper hair and was of average height, a gun secured to his hip by a holster. He glanced at Geet through the car window, then turned back to Maan. The two men moved closer to a stone fountain set off from the driveway that was gurgling water majestically.
Geet strained to hear what they were saying but couldn’t hear a word. Maan was listening intently to the police officer, who wore a serious expression as he spoke. At one point, Maan shrugged and crossed his arms while he apparently replied to a question. Geet wished she could read lips.
The men suddenly turned in Geet’s direction and Maan motioned for her to join their conversation. Geet sucked in a gasp. She had never spoken to a police officer before. What did they want to speak to *her* for?
It occurred to Geet that this was her opportunity to get out of here. Surely, all she had to say was that she had been kidnapped by a gangster and the police would help her? On unsteady legs, Geet opened the car door and walked toward them.
The officer introduced himself curtly and cut to the chase. “Mr. Khurana here says your name is Geet Handa. May I ask where you were last night, miss?”
Geet flicked her eyes toward Maan, whose face was expressionless.
“I was . . . here.” Geet wished that the officer’s gun wasn’t in her line of vision. It astounded her how close she was finding herself to weapons these days.
“The whole night?” The officer pressed.
*This is the time, Geet!* she ordered herself. *Rescue yourself and get out of here!*
“Yes,” Geet found herself saying. “The whole night.”
“Just as I told you, officer,” Maan said easily. “There was no need to bring Miss Handa out of the vehicle to corroborate my version of events. Now, is this turning into an official interrogation? Do I need to get legal counsel?”
The officer raised an eyebrow at Maan and then turned back to Geet, who was all but shivering. “You should know that there was a shooting in the alley last night and that we have been trying to gather evidence to pinpoint what exactly happened. Your friend here has been part of very dangerous activities in the past. If you’re trying to cover for him in any shape or form, well . . . that would be very foolish on your part, miss. You can go.”
---
Geet stood in the foyer, staring through the glass panes as the officer and Maan continued to talk. She couldn’t believe she had let her chance of escaping slip through her fingers. Even if she had said one word, “help,” the officer could have gotten her out here. Why hadn’t she said anything? Neil’s sweet face appeared in her mind -- maybe she had been subconsciously thinking of him, of how his already tenuous world would be turned upside down if his uncle got in trouble with the law? But she had just met the child! Surely her own safety was at least as important?
Finally, the officer got back into his car and drove away. Maan strode purposefully up to the door. Geet was momentarily mesmerized by him and the severe expression on his face. She had never met anyone else who simply exuded authority just by existing.
“In my office,” Maan said quietly as soon as he opened the front doors. “Now.”
“Well, I --”
But he was already walking away. Geet scurried to follow Maan’s sure footsteps through twisty corridors and up endless stairs.
When they were in his dim office once again, Maan closed the door behind him and gestured for Geet to sit.
“You did . . . all right out there,” Maan said. “I mean, I knew you wouldn’t say anything, but I still wanted to give my . . . thanks.” It sounded like it was an effort for him to spit out the words.
“You *knew* I wouldn’t say anything?”
“Of course,” Maan said, shrugging.
Maybe Geet *should* have blown his cover, just to quell his arrogance.
“I was able to keep the officer at bay for now, but I expect you to continue to keep your mouth shut in case anyone else of authority shows up here,” Maan continued sternly. “Do you understand me?”
“Excuse me?” Geet couldn’t help but jump up from her chair. How dare he speak to her that way, after she had kept his secret. “You could be a little nicer, I must say.”
“That’s not how most people would describe me,” he said wryly.
“I’m not surprised,” Geet muttered. She stood up from her chair. “Can I go now?”
“Fine,” said Maan, who had already moved to a file cabinet. “But come to the dining room for dinner tonight. I’ll have clothes delivered for you.”
“Dinner? And what clothes? I already --”
“You’re dismissed, Miss Handa,” said Maan, clearly bored of the conversation. “I’ll see you tonight.”
