When will we get to see a badass female lead on Indian TV?

We don't get to see much female characters with grey shade. While our shows are filled with ML in greys.We either see the female lead to be bubbly or meek.The web series and movies have already explored this topic i feel like our tv screens are still lacking a savage FL.

The last one i remember was Maya from Beyhadh.

Some of the areas in case of FL which are still unexplored are

• A FL who proposes ML before marriage
• A FL who doesn't give a fck about anything and is concerned only about herself
• A FL who is unapologetic
• A FL who is savage
• A FL wooing ML

Misha ( 2nd FL) of Pyaar ki Ek Khaani, Nisha of Nisha aur uske cousins, Anjali of Jhalli Anjali ke tootey dil ki amazing story.

And in recent tv soaps it's so rare to find such FL

The major problem is with ITv audience. They cannot tolerate a woman who is seen mostly in office and not in kitchen making things for pati or pita.

Even with love stories, fans usually adoreee (awwww...) when ML does stupid antics to woo a girl ... and specially if ML is grey for some reason, it's enjoyed even more for some weird reasons 😆 .. Like I would be surprised even if a woman is shown to be strong enough to dump their spineless two-timing husbands in iTV rather than being so forgiving.

Grey woman like Maya can only be accepted on OTT and on iTv, and otherwise, a woman can be shown savage and courageous just in front of rest of the world but would turn damsel in distress in for ML 😆 to save her and she can fall for him.

Hence, I would say in this season of Balika Vadhu, let Anandi be a shade that dumps her bachpan ka pati or let there be a show where woman is shown to be cheating abla bechara husband. Every damn show wants to just focus on love triangles of women fighting for trophy spineless man. 🤪

Beautiful examples mentioned! From currently running I'd say Sai Joshi from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin (SP) used to be like that initial 100-200 episodes, the show was doing extremely well TRP wise despite her being badass, treating others the way they treat her but still makers chose to tone her down and IDK why.
