At least you'll be able to jump onto the forum, see this thread, see how far it's moved, be like, "Yeah no!" and then continue your break like a boss 😎 🤣

I know I'll miss you guys 🤗

But I am not able to be unbiased or unconcerned. I have a soft spot for Shiva, maybe due to certain life experiences, and while I hate what he has become, I cannot completely digest or sympathize with Raavi's character, however much she has suffered. ShiVi getting together feels like the triumph of the bad side( I know I know extreme overreaction 😆- but for some reason, the recent Raavi has triggered me a lot, surprisingly. I never used to care for her much before- as in neither overly loved her or hated her 🤷‍♀️)

Honestly, I have been struggling to convince myself about why I should continue watching. For the same story, I even could argue- better stories for all couples- I can just watch the OG from the beginning. Everyone grows in that story.

Probably some of my soft corner for Shiva is a spillover from Kathir- and while in the OG Mullai does despise him initially, she never did so in public, and once they reached the comfortable point, where ShiVi were after Jeera Kaand, Mullai never once regressed back. She gave Kathir immense respect and support. And helped in grow.

So I keep asking myself, why am I watching a story where the female counterpart is tearing down the male counterpart. I am losing hope that Raavi will ever become Mullai- even if she does, I'll always be distrustful of her 🤷‍♀️

⚠️ This will be a long post bashing Episode 175 (sorry for those of you who loved the episode, I just cannot)... I needed to take multiple breaks to address the episode... but here's my unfiltered thoughts (figured posting here is better as this is more of a frustration thread than anything else)

0:00—1:00 Pandya Family Making Jokes of the Romantic Rainy Weather

This scene was of poor taste to me... normally I don't mind Krish and Rishita making jokes and trying to push ShiVi together, but this was a scene that was very much not needed. It kind of reminded me of Suman's dialogues of how every Pandya bahu needed to have a baby by the year end... are ShiVi there to just romance and continue the family line? Why didn't the family realize Shiva's tense behavior when her friends came, or Shiva pushing Raavi away... even Dev... just a few episodes back, Raavi poured some of her heartfelt thoughts to him, questioning why Shiva was pushing her away. But instead of Dev telling Krish and Rishita to stop joking around, he laughs with them...

Revision: The Pandya Family was introduced as a family who stood together, thick and thin. They understood each other's emotions without having to explicitly say any dialogues (Case in point Shiva hugging Dhara, and Dhara holding Shiva's hand telling him not to be emotional after the baby shower, Shiva hugging Krish after the cigarette scene)... They should have known. Instead of making jokes, Dev should asked Krish and Rishita to calm down, and he should've turned to GauRa and Suman to voice out his concern about ShiVi's relationship. He doesn't need to go into the details, he could merely say, "I don't know what's happening to them, but I am worried that something big is happening... we need to help them before it's too late." It honestly would've been a much greater transition scene since now the family knows something is wrong!

2:40—3:00 Gaumbi Criticizes Shiva that Raavi Always Cries Whenever She is with Shiva

And there the makers go... ruining Gaumbi's characterization right then and there. All of his dialogues were in pure distaste for me. Raavi always cries when she is with Shiva? Sir, if I may ask respectfully, then why did you allow this wedding to take place in the beginning? You said it yourself pre-marriage, Shiva's world revolved around Raavi. You say the many times Shiva hurt Raavi from physically manhandling her to calling her all types of names (while she predominantly called him Shiva with bhootnath, junglee mixed in every now and then)... meanwhile, until Shiva introduced Raavi he called her MKMKB, chipkali, chudail, dushman... How could you think that they would be happy knowing everything you knew? Out of all the scenarios you possibly could have imagined for Shiva and Raavi to go through, why did you think Raavi's tears are because of Shiva... especially since the whole family was joking about ShiVi romancing in the rain. Why couldn't you think ShiVi met up with goons along the way? It doesn't matter if Shiva was in the wrong, or if Raavi was in the wrong, directly accusing someone before giving them a chance to speak is wrong... imagine going to court and having the court already decide you are guilty without them ever hearing your side of the case... And this is me not even touching upon the fact that Gaumbi was going to slap Shiva...

Revision: Perhaps I've watched the OG, but I wish Gaumbi ran up to Shiva, shared a worried look with Dhara as he looked back and forth between Shiva and Raavi before finally asking, "Shiva... what happened? What went wrong? Why is Raavi crying so much, and why are you coming back so angry?" In this way, he would've validated Raavi by recognizing her grief and he would've validated Shiva by recognizing his emotions. He would've been the neutral voice that Shiva and Raavi both needed to share their perspective without judgment.

3:40—4:00 Raavi Claims She was Wrong to Marry a Rakshasa like Shiva

I believe other forum members have said it better... but wow did I take a double-take when I heard Raavi say this dialogue... it wasn't the fact that Raavi regrets her decision of marrying Shiva that was problematic for me (I personally think it's valid for her to regret marrying someone she doesn't love due to the insistence of her Mausa-Pa), it was the fact that Raavi claimed Shiva was a rakshasa... just a few episodes Raavi was praising Shiva for being like his namesake, and now she's done an entire 180 flip on him? She goes to extremes when she is thinking about Shiva... it's never Shiva is kind, I appreciate Shiva for doing this for me... it's straight up "If Shiva is nice to me, then he is like Bholenath" and "If Shiva is mean to me, then he is like a Rakshasa" More so than Raavi, I hate the CVs for giving us these half-baked dialogues. Hate doesn't get cultivated in a day, it takes days and multiple instances to pass severe judgments like this (otherwise you run the risk of becoming a shallow character)... so the fact that Raavi is flip-flopping is just damn disappointing.

Revision: A simple, "I hate you Shiva!" would suffice. It perfectly would've explained her frustration for his behavior. Name calling just causes her to look bad.

4:25—5:15 Raavi Mentions She's Tried Hard to Salvage this Relationship

... So I haven't been in a relationship (so maybe I don't understand), but what exactly has Raavi done to understand Shiva? Post-kidnapping, she shut Shiva from her life. It wasn't until he saved her did she really open up to him. However, then the kangan kaand happened, and she was angry at him yet again. Afterwards, it was Sneha and Shiva closing up to her.... in the 4 months they've been married, why didn't the CVs show scenes where they tried to understand each other? After her mistaken assumption during the kidnapping kaand, I would've assumed she would've been more vigilant and cautious. Again, I'm not saying she should support Shiva every time. I just want to see nice, well-thought out scenes where she is trying to understand where he is coming from (whether it is flipping through photos in a photo album or hearing what customers think about him while he is at the store). The day where he tried to leave the room, and she tried to stop him was nice and much needed. I want more of that! Instead, I get limited, meaningful scenes between ShiVi where they continue to act in the same damaging manner. Shiva doesn't talk, and Raavi doesn't get speaking lines... I don't see how either of them tried to salvage this relationship!

Revision: CVs should have given us a few more meaningful scenes. Instead of the flour throwing scene, which was a lollipop scene, there should have been a customer who praised Shiva for his speed. Raavi could've inquired what the customer meant, and the customer could've explained how no one in Somnath could beat Shiva's math skills in terms of adding up bill totals, or his speed in packing up products. Then Raavi could've "tried" to beat him, fail, and then admire Shiva for his speed (thus, there would be no need to bring in the gawar comment) and Raavi could've had a dialogue of, "I admired you for all your hardwork!" Likewise, instead of commenting on Raavi's beauty, I wish Raavi's friends spoke about the pranks that Raavi played in college. They could've mentioned that Raavi did a kesar similar stunt; thus, it could've been a speaking point for Shiva and Raavi! That way, Raavi's dialogue wouldn't have been so hard to digest... because we as an audience know that they had some similarities, but time and place was giving them obstacles...

This is just my thoughts in the first 5 or so minutes... if I have the resolve to, I'll comment on the rest of the episode as well as my thoughts....

I love this ❤️ Prema is right- the writers have just mercilessly butchered the characters 😕

But I cannot totally fault them too- on the one hand they have to appease the TRP audience and on the lther hand the ShiVi romance mongers.

Sorry to sound judgemental- but both these categories do not really care much for story progression or subtlety. TRP audience wants drama- so have GauRa overreact and beat up the boys, where earlier they would be level headed and share meaningful glances, or Suman would do something completely idiotic like jump in a well.

And the ShiVi phankas- well they would also like conversations and introspections I think, but they also want the heavy dose of romance. Emotional growth be damned. A lot of them would just like all the fights to be over and the romance to start 🤷‍♀️ Arre don't the characters need to grow. They would rather have emotionally proficient romance ready characters. 😳

any sane and nice story is welcomed....I love shiva raavi but if something sensible is shown would love to watch it.....something meaningful.....

these people don't focus on one main story and 2 secondary ones.....it can be anyone of the couple but no .....they have to push in some damn illogical drama

kahan ja rahi ho???

Just taking a break from PS 😆

Probably might reduce participation in the forum.

Life is stressful as it is- don't feel like stressing out for a show 🤣 Atleast earlier with the illogical drama the episodes were light hearted or the trolling was fun. Now I just get angry at non existent characters 😆

I love the FF here though, so will lurk around the stories- especially a few FF I have been following.
