But Maddy was the only one who wasn't abusive towards the heroine.
Maddy is the only one who doesn't crosses his boundaries with his love interest.
Doesn't that make him one of the better ones?
Maddy lied and in the end tried to justified it. I take straight forward guys against this coward. He didn't have guts to own his lies.
If only he accepts that he lied for his love and it is wrong but he still did it for the love I wouldn't had any problem. He is not man enough for that. He crossed the boundaries the day he used another name to befriend her, actually worse since she thought that he is actually her fiance.
Who the fuck is voting for Kabir Singh?
Book Devdas was worse. He told paro he didnt feel anything romantic for her, didnt behave well with her, when she got married realised he lost her n indeed had feelings for her, started acting like a whiney dramaqueen blaming everyone for their separation when actually he himself didnt even reciprocate the love when she asked him repeatedlyOriginally posted by: TrollikaDevi
Devdas was pretty problematic. He was a narcissist who led Paro on, and when his snooty mother insulted her mother and her family, instead of apologising to them he starts mind games with Paro. Calls her vain. Tries to make her feel guilty for saving her face and marrying the other guy. Makes passive aggressive comments when she visits. Acts as if HE was the victim and the only one. Leads Chandramukhi on and uses her. At the end when his organs gave up on him he has the nerve to use Paro's address not thinking about how it would affect her marriage and reputation.
I'll chose Devdas over the rest.
Dev-Paro were in a weird relationship, at max he was a toxic boyfriend and went on a self destructive spree. He did mark her forehead (and I condemn it) but was still better than the others.
What Maddy, Kundan, Radhe and Kabir Singh were doing in the movie actually happens in reality (and has chilling results for the girl who is a victim ). A random romeo stalking you can only be romanticised in the movies, in real life it destroys the girl's life, fills it with terror and leads to either the parents locking her up and marrying her off or the guy attacking her.

Oh interesting. I guess they changed that to fit the filmy formula. I've always wanted to read the book but was wondering if it would get lost in translation. Did you read the original ?
yeah i read the original only as am bengali.I think in translation also you will get a good essence of the story. Oh Bhanshali definitely romanticized evrrything a lot. Devdas didnt even love paro before her marriage in the book and just felt amused by her dedication n courage in wanting to be with himOriginally posted by: TrollikaDevi

These are all terrible; but Devdas I suppose. At least he was more self destructive than destroying everyone else, though still toxic AF
The most problematic is Radhe.
He was quite scary in those abduction scenes. He could love but his personality and behaviour was like any mature woman would think before marrying him.
Least is Maddy. He was going to make his career and didn't really harm anyone or destroyed his family.
Many have voted for Devdas but honestly even if he destroyed himself, his family was equally finished in terms of losing a son.
seems like the real Selmon boi 😆The most problematic is Radhe.
