They might have been coerced with all the Nawabi khandaan BS.Coercion can also be psychological, not necessarily physical or threatening. Also, patriarchy is still strong in our country, most people think the kds must follow their fathers' paths.

Do you seriously think a Hindu or Sikh woman (like Amrita was) would naturally come up with hardcore Muslim names such as Ibrahim and Taimur?

I know that coercion comes in different forms and I myself was only referring to psychological coercion. I didn't say that Amrita came up with those names, I was saying that Amrita is a strong woman so why would she have agreed to the names Ibrahim and Sara? She doesn't seem like the type to give into that pressure. My point was that maybe out of their list of names, both Saif and Amrita liked Sara and Ibrahim best which is why they ended up with those names. Same with him and Kareena. Just like how SRK-Gauri, Amir-wives, and Sanjay Dutt-Manyata named their kids. I just find it weird that this thread has become about religion.

So you think a man with four kids from two different women, both of whom are not Muslim, just happened to give all 4 kids Muslim names just by coincidence? They didn’t like any Hindu/Sikh/Christian name even once? Okay.
