At first I thought Oily is playing slippery mind games- I thought she wanted to stop the mannat to make it sound like "Dhara is cursed. Find someone else for Gaumbi". And she has laid the groundwork for Suman mummy love with her stupid locket and mannat business. So when time comes she'll convince Suman that she will never take up power as the "mom" in the house.

I don't know how hurting Suman comes into this. Maybe she will still put it on Dhara being cursed so family members are getting hurt and mannat could not be completed 🤷‍♀️

Yes, many women or men do that and wash the floor too since many people take the yatra bare foot. It's done to keep the path free from pebbles thorns etc.

@bold - It is common in TN when they do Kavadi or pal kudam, so the path is clear of stones or thorns, the devotees who are carrying out the mannat don’t have problems completing it. One of the family members see to it that paths are clean.

I am sure it’s the same eveywhere. If you see Puri Rath Yatra, they will be cleaning the path for the chariot to have a smooth run as well.
