No! This may just be my first post on BB-havent seen the film..read on wiki(so blah)..

Also I am veteran fan and I know that, after Padmavati,SLB wouldnt even think of asking her for a lesser role.

Someone has posted a list of DP flops..I am only confused about ,why she signed Desi Boyz..I even understand the disastrous kochadiyaan.She has avoided trash most of the time. CCTC must have sounded brilliant on paper and it was signed just after OSO.

Pathan,Fighter,Project K,Dharma film,The intern and Draupadi(producer confirmed some days back).They all look good to fans.Some of these will flop..but that is ok..part of the game...

We have too many fluffy, candyfloss-ish stuff nowadays. Gotta have some hard-hitting stuff to balance it up.

Mardaani, EV had actual plots and got feminism across in subtle ways which audience could understand. Dangal was an Aamir vehicle. Haven't watched Soni.

The point is a movie should NOT be a lecture. There are ways to get thoughts across without beating the viewer on the head with a plank.

Candyfloss movies showing independent women also will have impact. The idea of the female half of society as strong and independent and fully capable of anything has to be normalized.

A movie like Chapak or something like Gulabi Gang will be ignored by the same audience.

More than who stays and who opts out, my concern is SLB's ability to pull it off. Baiju Bawra is a story of a guy seeking to avenge Tansen (a great musician and one of the nine gems/Navaratna in Akbar's court) via music more than the love story between Baiju and his love interest Gauri.

Good music and engrossing story telling would be paramount for movies like this. SLB sure has given good to great music in the past (although I found music of his last two movies average at their best). The settings of Akbar's court will be magnificent going by his past records, any actor playing Baiju's love interest will look like a dream (acting I'm not very sure of) as he will spend a fortune to ensure treating audience with the best visual aesthetics.

It is the script and storytelling that I'm worried about.

And it's good Deepika pulled out for whatever reason. I want to see some new pairing. Ranveer-Deepika are getting quite stale tbh.

Now Kangana will go nuts over this and claim SHE was the first woman ever who demanded equal pay in the entire world.

The problem with equal pay in films is that a lot of movies require the male actors to give more dates and perform a lot more. Like stunts etc. So you can't demand equal pay just because you're a woman. You can if only if you're putting in the same amount of work.

Even his remixes are as fresh and good as originals. So yeah in Music, aesthetics and production value SLB will be the best . Eg Albela Sajan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Bajirao Mastani

Isn’t she one of the highest (if not THE highest) paid actress in india ? Equal pay depends on role and part I guess … must be more to this if hubby is still acting in it and she used to have a fab relation ship also given the last movies …. Yas phir this thread to bash an awesome actress ? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
