I don't think there is any lawyer who would only defends innocents. If that's his/her attitude then he/she would've a tough time finding clients.

Whether innocent or guilty, every citizen deserves a fair trial and for that they need a lawyer. And the job of a lawyer is to get the best deal possible for his/her client from the judiciary system.

But, when a person knowingly puts an innocent in jail for his/her job and to further his/her career, then fairness has gone out of the window. I am sure some partners will show displeasure when they find it.
