I was confident in my knowledge of Gujju culture and festivals until I started watching PS. Now, I find myself questionning my knowledge. Alot.

When we lived in India, our house was across from a temple. I do remember that during Gauri vrat times, there were married women who'd do Pooja for gaays (cow statue in temple) and then circle some thread around tree. But don't know what that was. I was very young and didn't really care to know what it was. Just remember seeing things from my balcony.

My mom or married women in my family never celebrated any of that. And neither did my neighbors, but I did see women coming from outside of neighborhood coming to do some Pooja around this time.
