It depends on what works for you. My go-tos are nice rom-coms and family drama, with occasional mystery/suspense😆

Olene Kadar: Murder/romance. Ending isn't as amazing but rest is quite nice.

Afili Ask (pronounced 'Ashk'): My go-to, favorite rom-com

Fazilet Hanim ve Kizlari: Family drama/romance. The drama gets too much at times but you eventually learn where to fast-forward😆

Sen Çal (pronounced 'chal') Kapimi: Decent overall, romance

Dolunay: Romance/drama

Ask Mantik Intikam: Remake of a K Drama, ongoing, rom-com

There are others too that I've liked in the past but I can't remember at the moment🤔

Irony is that Sony owns SAB as well 😔 🤡

Good mystery, rom-coms--anything works as long as the plot and execution is great. Appreciate it 🤗

I started watching marathi show Ajunahi Barsat Ahe starring Mukta Barve and Umesh Kamat. It Seems good but is slow. I love Mukta but alwyas shipped her with Swapnil and from ELDG Umesh was alwyas third wheel for me😆 so it is difficult to ship him and Mukta. I hope they grow on to me as a couple.

I will go back to TMKOC and Shinchan. They help me keep my sanity. 😆

I know about that show. Just the other day, I saw a bit of it. The elevator stuck scene. And I kinda really liked it. Mukta is ❤️

I don't really know the ML but whatever saw of him that , I found him good.

But.

I just rewatched MPM yesterday. I can't get over.

Nahi SuMod. And you might have to catch up with the last 40 or so pages😆 to see us venting about how unprofessional and stupid Sony is and kaise hum Sony ko phir dobaara mudd ke nahi dekhenge once the show is over 😆

You both please suggest me some good Malayalaee and Marathi movies. I have watched a couple thanks to my other friends, always love good desi recommendations since I don't follow BW movies as much anymore.

Marathi: Some of these are dark and realistic

1. Jogwa : It is about two people who are forced by society to give up everything and become devotee of god. The guys in fact has to give up being a man and wear womens' clothes etc. It is based on real situation. Cenmatography is amazing.

2. Natrang: A story of a man who playes enunch in Tamasha (theatrical folk) group. It starrs Atul Kulkarni and I would say his best performance of lifetime.

Above two are dark movies which tells your reality of our society so watch at your ris

3. Fandry: This is from Sairat movie director. It is a story of 13 yr boy who faces caste discrimnination in villages

4. Killa : My all time favourite. It is about a 11yr boy who lost his father and nove moved to village from city with his mother. How he adapt to new things and new school. It is very simple story but exceution is very good. Again cinematography is top notch.

5. Mumbai Pune Mumbai: There are 2 sequels also but the first one is the best. It is light romantic movie. Having stayed in both Pune and Mumbai, I just connected immediately to it. Some dialogues and jokes are such that you can understand only if you know these cities and their stereotypes😆 But still one of the best romantic movies

6. Harishchandrachy factory : This is such a feel good movie. It is biographical yet light and fun. It is about Dadasaheb phalke making first Indian movie Raja Harishchandra

I also liked Court and Natsamrat (Nana Patekar movie)

Putting this all on my list. I like a mixture of genres in desi movies--so hard hitting and gritty movies are good too. Thank you so much ❤️
