Also biggest of all what IF requires is to support Image and Gif upload on its own. Tired of having to upload the images/gif in image hosting sites which do not work after a while until premium membership is taken and then post on IF. Though direct embedding of Twitter and Instagram and YouTube was the bestest update after rewards, but then if this image hosting problem is solved that would provide a lot of respite to all of us.
Coming to tag, number of people being tag should be increased.
Also allow keyword / phrase search for fanfiction.
The Google search, helps but ends after 10 pages.
Would love if filter for Year too is added along with it.
Tags we will increase soon but we can only make it till 10.
Well we ourselves want to start the image upload feature but little wary about the resources it might take up. So do not want to start it without proper checks.
Some restrictions we have planned:
- We would be keeping image upload for senior members or above.
- Limit on number of images and kind of image a user can upload. We would have to bring in rules which does not violates any copyright laws.
- Max Limit on Image size eg. 200kb - 1mb. And our server will further compress it for fast loading.
- User putting image needs to give proper details about the image.
- Per post only certain number of posts can be added and there would be a daily limit also.
- We would not be able to support GIF upload for now.
- We will reserve the right to disable image upload feature for certain users who often misuse this feature.
- Feature may be disabled / enabled on certain forums / topics. Will be sharing more details when we are near the launch of that feature.
