Hello everyone! I am Smiley. I have written an OS on our Rudhita. While discussing about favorite Rudhita scene post-leap, this story came to my mind. It's based on the head massage dream scene. I love the simplicity and beauty of the scene.
I would like to thank Rinnie for asking me to write some on this scene.🤗
This is my first time writing an OS, so please give me your feedback. I would really appreciate it. Hoping you like this OS.❤️
Happy reading!😊
It was supposed to be a simple case. Barrister Aniruddh Roy Chaudhary was not supposed to loose it at the last moment, but he did. It was all because of the regressive mindsets of the people. No matter how hard he tried to fight against the age old evil practices and beliefs for the good of the society, people would still oppose him. On rare occasions, he would succeed in planting the seeds of progress in the minds of people, but most of the time, the orthodox beliefs won. Today was one of such occasions where he couldn’t protect the rights of a 19 year old widowed mother; he couldn’t get her the custody of her own son.
Aniruddh parked his car in front of the Roy Chaudhary Haveli and went inside the house. He didn’t stop to say hello to Swaswathi and the kids he had adopted, like he did every day. He went straight to his study, the place which held all his memories- both the good and the bad; the place where he had spent countless nights awake, fighting his loneliness; the place where he had finally realized the depth of his love for Bondita. Bondita. Barrister Bondita Das Roy Chaudhary, his Barrister Babu, his wife; it was the study only where he had finally gave into his feelings and confessed his love in front of Bondita.
He entered the study, threw his robe and files on the table and sat on the sofa. His head was aching; he closed his eyes in hopes of finding some relief, but the stress was a bit too much to go away on its own. In his pain, he did not notice Bondita entering the study. She had seen him going straight to the study and had understood what could have happened, so she came directly to him. She stood behind his chair and started massaging his forehead.
As soon as Aniruddh felt her fingers brushing against his forehead,he leaned into the touch; his stress already started leaving his body. He stayed put for a few minutes and just enjoyed the work of his wife’s hands. They had married without wasting any time as soon as Aniruddh had accepted that he loved her the same way she loved him; they had already wasted a lot of time in ending the enmity between the two villages and in getting the real culprit punished.
After few minutes, all of the stress had left his body; he opened his eyes and held her hands. She smiled and sat on the armrest. She looked into his eyes, the frustration was clearly visible. He took her hands in his and held them near his heart. It was habit he had developed; he always took her hands and held them near his heart, although she never really understood why he did it, she never asked him. She just accepted that it was his way of showing his love and now she also waited for him to hold her hand near his heart. They stayed like that, silence engulfing them, for how long, they didn’t notice. It had always been like that for them; when they were together, nothing else seemed to exist.
Bondita finally broke the silence and asked, “Kya hua PatiBabu? Case ka natija humare haq mein nahi nikla?” Aniruddh sighed and answered,“Nahi! Sujata ke Baba ne court mein Judge Sahab ke saamne bol diya ki Sujata apne bete ko sahi se nahi sambhal sakti. Judge Sahab ne Sujata ke bete ki custody uske sasural walo ko de di. Tum toh jaanti hi ho naa ki kaise hai who log! Kaise Sujata ko uske pati ke marne ke baad ghar se nikal diya tha, yeh jaante huye ki wo maa ban ne wali hai!” As soon as he said it, his anger returned;anger at himself for not being able to win the case; anger at Sujata’s father for lying in the court.
Bondita just raised her eyebrows while looking at him. He continued, “. Sujata ne apne bete ke janam ke baad kitna khayal rakha hai uska.Who padhayi ke sath-sath apne bete ka bhi toh dhyaan rakhti hai itne achche se.Firr uske Baba ne court mein jhooth kyu bola?”
Bondita sighed and shook her head slightly. She said, “Aapne bataya tha ki jab Sujata ko uske sasural walo ne nikal diya tha tab uske Baba ne use apne ghar mein rakha. Yahi nahi balki use padhne ke liye bhi protsaahit kiya tha uske Baba ne. Toh firr aaj wo achanak se aa kar court mein aisa kyu kahege, yeh socha aapne?”
Aniruddh stayed quiet. He had no answer for her. She knew her husband very well, so she knew after listening to Sujata’s father statement in the court, he would have just reacted in the worst possible manner, instead of thinking rationally; he had always been like that with- impulsively jumping to the conclusions, without thinking.
She added, “Aap ne hi kaha na ki Sujata ke susral wale bure log hai, woh bhala kuch aisa nahi kar sakte kya ki jis wajah se Sujata ke Babane court mein aa kar aisa bol diya? Haan, boliye Pati Babu?”
While searching for the answer of her question, rationality dawned on Aniruddh. He had not even once thought about this possibility. She had always been his voice of reason and rationality. She always solved his problems and put things in clear perspective for him with her arguments. He smiled and said, looking into her eyes, “Tum har baar apne tark se meri saari pareshaniyo ka hal dhund leti ho. Kaise kar leti ho aisa!”
She chuckled and answered, “Aapne hi toh kaha tha ki mai apne tark se fark laaugi, toh bas wahi kar rahi hu. Kaise barrister hai aap, khud kahi baat hi bhool gaye aap?” He also started laughing at her teasing.
Suddenly they heard the voice of Trilochan Kaka shouting from the hall, “Kaha hai yeh dono barrister? Samay ka bhi hosh nahi rehta hai inko. Khaane ka waqt ho gaya hai, yeh dono ka koi pata nahi. Jarur Adhyayan Kaksha mein baith kar ksii nayi kraanti ki tayyari kar rahe hoge dono. Khud ke parivaar aur bhavishya ki chinta nahi hai inko. Yeh nahi ki apne budhe Kaka ko pote-potiyon ka sukh de. Bas kutark kara lo inse.”
The Barrister couple looked at each other and laughed hearing their Kaka’s wish and they went to the dining hall for dinner before Kaka came to the study.
And just like that another normal day passed in the lives of our Barrister couple.
