Although all the grievances are said and done, I have always believed that Pandya Store certainly gives some fascinating messages.
In that dismal Haveli track, they did very gracefully touch upon accepting gender neutrality, silent support and acceptance of the LGBTQ community in average households through Krish. Though the track was supposed to be comical, it did leave a profound impact when everybody who believed Krish to be gay sympathised with his state. They also gave the message of ‘love is love.’
The second exciting message about gender inclusivity was when the masculine Shiva was being cross dressed in a sari. It initiated a lovely moment between the man and the woman, reaffirming gender fluidity and the changing world order.
They touched upon another susceptible subject where in our society which is so obsessed with procreation, men are often seen as victims of verbal abuse.
As much as we would like to state otherwise, men are sometimes victims of patriarchy, bigotry and always have toxic standards of masculinity to live up to.
Gautam was pushed to the edge today with the taunts of Janardan calling him impotent because he failed to procreate.
Male infertility is still a taboo subject given the toxic standards of masculinity which men have to live up to each day.
Pandya Store today won my heart again with such a sensitive portrayal of a realistic male.
This male figure, Gautam, is not the typical businessman who does a revenge marriage to prove his masculinity. He is not the toxic lead who stands as a fool while the entire family gives grief to his wife.
He is sensitive, tries to bring the family together. At the same time, he is hugely dissapointed of his choices that made him the butt of jokes from the society today.
He was driven to the edge today, given Hardik‘s brutal reminder of how incapable he was to take care of his sister, and then with Janardhan reminding of his childless state. He returns home as a broken man only to be frustrated and vulnerable.
I love the bond between Gautam and Dhara. She was broken, and she knew she had to hold him. What chemistry of comfort. Honestly, the show takes me back to the early 80s, and 90s when there were serials about multiple characters and various issues. I went back to watching an X show from the 80’s based on partition, which was such an incredible saga of numerous stories woven into one.
Pandya Store has its shortcomings, but certain scenes do touch my heart a lot. Today was one of them.❤️
He is shattered! He regrets his decision given the caustic remarks
In his most vulnerable moment, Dhara knew that she had to hold him with all her love.
Reassurance can heal and how! She doesn't regret her decision even for a single second!
The best way to take away someone’s hopelessness is to give him a spark of warmth. There's a certain reference to Tara as well!
Uff Dhara
I love the way Dhara holds his cheeks always 🔥
The last few clips are sheer bliss! ❤️ They hold onto each other, extending their cocoon of comfort. They both may not be frothing blue, gasping for breath when they are with each other! Instead, they bring peace, breaths and comfort to each other!!
Kissing away the pain of the past, trying to manage their present and lighting a lamp for their future! It reminded me of the song!
Thoda Hai Thode
Ki Zaroorat Hai
Zindagi Phir Bhi
Yahan Khoobsurat Hai
Tera saath hai to mujhe kya kami hai Andhero se bhi mil rahi roshani hai Kuchh bhi nahin hai to koi gam nahin hai Har ek bebasi ban gayi chaandani hai
पूरा-अधुरा हर अरमान हो एक दुसरे से जो बांधे हमें बाहों में नन्ही सी इक जान हो आबाद हो छोटा सा घर लग ना सके किसी की नज़र
A montage of love, care and affection!
