GG hasn't aged the best, I feel like whacking some sense into Serena all the time, but its full on an escapist fantasy with no consequences 😆

Ed was really good as Chuck. There's one scene when he is persuading Blair to sleep with him at a party...that was ☺️👏👏

Have you watched Dynasty? That's the only show in recent times that reminds me of the 2000s unapologetic teen dramas. Deserves higher ratings, esp than Riverdale. 😆 And Liz Gillies is 😆

Serena was so annoying . One of the most annoying characters teen dramas have ever produced. Like girl give it a rest. Blair and Chuck are the only toxic couple that worked and people rooted for because they are Chuck and Blair and that chemistry uff.

New Gossip girl made me realize that Leighton aced that role from day 1 and she carried that show. I miss the OG Gossip Girl lol.

I thought the same! Gossip Girl was supposed to be lighter, shallow and an escapist's fantasy, but the new one is dark and tries to add too much depth.

In the OG, I felt that every cast member had good chemistry with each other. Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck, Dan, Jenny, even the parents Rufus and Lily used to actually feel like a unit.

There were some very iconic scenes in the Pilot of the original which make you wanna watch more, like the Serena and Blair power struggle at the Met Steps, Rufus and Lily's interaction, Serena and Dan saving Jenny from Chuck at the "Kiss On The Lips" Party, Nate's confession to Blair that he slept with Serena + Blair's breakdown.

Also was it just me that I hated the fashion 😆 They have HBO budget but the CW show had better outfits.

I couldn't sit thru the first episode without cringing, no more for me!

I don't find any appeal in most of the new cast n characters. I have seen some clips of the show though. Julien's very first outfit (that shabby look for school) just turned me off. Only interesting character seems to be Max, he has great chemistry with that pseudo Blair (who it seems can't act) but pretty sure they'll pair him up with pink hair guy coz diversity ya'll.

Oh and yeah, they aren't good actors. In the original one it was only Nate (Chace) who wasn't that good, Ed and Leighton were terrific, even Blake was okay. But both Chace and Blake were gorgeous to look at and even their characters were mostly dumb so it suited them. Still remember Chuck's infamous "You and Serena have it easy. Until now your biggest concern is whose hair is more shiny" 😆

Only Julien, Max and Monet seem to be decent in this one.

I'll wait for the season to get over before I decide whether to watch or not. As of now, it looks like I won't.

Riverdale is horrible 🤣 Dynasty is nice, its similar to Gossip Girl coz everyone is shallow and rich 😆

Serena was fine in Season 1, but 2 onwards everyone's writing got deteriorated, except Nate and Chuck. I always rooted for Jenny, she was much better than the rest of the group. At least she was self made and would honestly had made a name for herself (in the good way) had Rufus been encouraging and she wouldn't have involved herself in the Blair business.

I always rooted for Jenny and Nate to get together for real, Jenny would be the genuineness Nate needed and Nate's contacts would help her grow. He was, imo, the sweetest rich guy. Its like the two nicest people got screwed over the most.

I liked Chuck and Blair after Chuck confessed his love for her, but when he let his uncle spend a night with him...urgh that was sick. I always found Chuck to have grown into the better character in the later seasons, whereas Blair's maturity and sensibility seemed to deteriorate with time...esp that entire Princess of Monaco fiasco.

But my OTP was Lily and Rufus, I cannot believe the writers ripped them apart for a trainwreck like Dan and Serena. They were the strongest couple, who loved each other even after 20 freaking years, it's hard to believe Serena's dad could have done all that damage to their relationship.

Serena and Dan were the most irritating characters on the show. My most favorite ones were Blair, Nate and Chuck. The new one Is a disaster and none of the characters look impressive. No wonder it's a dampsquib. Why even ruin the OG. Next they will come with a flop revamp of TVD or Glee. Ughh remakes always ruin the essence of the OG's.
