I guess it is to show that both of them belonged to just okay-to-do families so bahut zyada investment nahi karsakte the shaadi mein. Simple ring with no stones & Guys ka toh actually I think stone nahi hota hai na, it's the design print that makes it more costly.

Actually I think that they wanted to show that Siddesh did whatever he could for his sister's wedding. It was the best ring he could have afforded
