How is your own 'Pandya store'?

Where do you do groceries? is it a supermarket or a family-owned/ mom-pop shop like our Pandya store?

I'll tell you about my recent experience.

Well, yesterday's episode glimpses- I got to check in my Indian grocery store.

Our town now has a few Indian grocery stores, mostly chains like patels/ bazaars etc. though when I moved to the US, we had none. after a year or so this one opened. By a family. 2 brothers- 2 wives ran the show. Later the older couple moved back to India & the younger couple runs this small niche grocery store will ultimate tlc. they are my favorites- hardworking, personal connection with customers, full gaam ki gossip 😃.

Yesterday stopped by for the weekly run and wife- who manages counter- was watching PS on Hotstar.

Gujarati couple: wife - imagine shorter version of Ishima/ Divyanka. Husband imagine shorter version of Pareshbhai rawal.

Husband has 0 interest in wife's gupshups/ tv/ etc. he is busy managing stocking & amigos in background.

Coming to PS watching: Enters Raavi- all dressed up & wife goes: Aa to jo, lagan maa nikli. ben kaam karvu pade store ma.

Then comes customer in PS & maide ki holi starts. wife goes: 100 na 60 karya. 5 no maido aapyo ne 50 no lot waste karyo. Aise te dhandha thata hashe?!!

next comes: aa haraa whole day why make Shiva carry kothla (sacks)... trolly vaparta hoy toh! Store ma kaam kare etle bas kothla j upadvana?

God! She was on the roll! Had fun watching glimpses of the show at the grocery store with live relative inputs from a store owner.

reel/ real ka stark difference has created an imbalance in my mental show universe system. So have skipped watching the complete episode yet- and have checked reel/real ka other mazes of the show.

have refrained- as my selfish viewer mind+heart+soul wants no crazy trouble for the show due to mixed-up issues.

But will comment on that other thread. kuchch to kehna hai.

wow.. this is hilarious! it's interesting to know the opinions of real grocery store owners about PS😆

Everyone is bothered about Shiva carrying sacks! Somnath doesn't seem to have the concept of trolleys yet.. maybe they will show a future track where PS converts into a supermarket instead of an older-style provision store😆

@bold, all these tracks require money 🤣 With the way the family is wasting money (ShiVi wasting precious flour, Rishita demanding more things, and Dev trying to build a luxury room), when will PS have the time to show a supermarket 🤣

Jaanu is more likely to come in and do his best to ruin those plans 🤣 And to spite the family and win back Rishita, he will call his store "Rishita Store"

@bold: this actually happens in the Tamil OG! The Jaanu there builds a supermarket just to rival the Pandya brothers and calls it "Rishita Store", so I'm sure the Jaanu here will do this at some point 😆

Maybe then we can see some interesting track of business rivalry between the Pandyas and Jaanu, where the brothers actually put their education and business acumen to use (wishful thinking 🤣)

shiva has built a huge wall around him to shut Ravi out. He is now using his favourite defence mechanism in the form of anger and lashing out at Ravi to prevent himself from heartbreak. I loved how Ravi was poking him to have a conversation by telling him that despite him great getting drunk, she still isn’t complaining and grumbling.

Shiva’s lashing out is instant reactionary. When she says:

“Tu Sunn Raha Hai Na?”

He immediately retorts, “Kyun Sunu main?”

He also Says, “Mujhe na humare barein mein koi baat hi nahi karni”

Shiva Doesn’t want to talk about them and then gives her the most bizarre threatening that he ever could. He would go to the terrace to sleep if she doesn’t shut up. What an irony?😆

at first, i think he's pulling some kind of prank on me, so, I push him away lightly & his clumsy ass gets the red chilli powder in his eyes

& I go all, "what the hell were you thinking? today's our assessment day, for the love god, stop pulling pranks & be serious"

to which he while literally crying in pain, his dramatic ass goes, "it's all your fault, you know my brain can't function in the kitchen, so, you just HAD TO go ahead look cute today & now my eyes are BURNING, I swear to god, if I go blind it's all gonna be your fault"

"oh, would you just calm down? I'm getting you water, stop making me panic"

I end up passing him water in bowls till the time his pain subsides & I realise that he's just acting as if he's in pain just to make feel guilty

so being the ✨satan's spawn✨ that I am (& who he now loves), I pass him the flour (atta) bowl :))

he ends up pouring it on himself, so, point 1 for team sara, which got nullified because he recovered wayyy faster than I thought & ended up pouring the refined flour (maida) on me

pro tip: I know it looks & sounds very romantic on tv & in stories, but trust me, there’s nothing romantic about getting flour out of your hair for 7 days straight & trying not to rip your hair out in the process

once we get tired of chasing each other & throwing things, I go, “we only have an hour left & nothing is ready, you need to stop”

he says, “I’m not stopping, you stop” & stubbornly steps forward

“stop right there, if you don’t, I swear I’ll tell everyone you thought that I looked 'SO CUTE' today & guess what, I'm gonna make them believe me, after all, you know how convincing I can be”

well, threatening him with my ✨persuasion skills✨ got him to do the needful immediately

yes, we ended up finishing the assessment & no, we weren’t graded on the basis of our cakes, we were graded on the fact that the judges won’t stop laughing at us

A+ seemed like a pretty good grade for us looking like idiots (& the cake was delicious jbtw)

although, how the thing turned out edible is beyond me

this & every story I have ever shared on the forum is exactly why shivi is SO CLOSE to my heart

they remind me of us 🥺❤️

Our phoolkumari finds the mattress too heavy.

"Aahh.kitna bhari hai yeh"

Did she want her chattan pandya to come and help? Raavi and her nautanki 🤣🤣🤣

But our sakht launda doesn't pighal this time.bechari apna gussa takiye pe nikal rahi hai.🤭🤭

Wait! Did they just sleep in the same direction?🤓

Isn't this a progression?😍

What made her do that?😮😮

2) gombi needs some peace and quiet.today he was actually human.its too much for him to handle.i wish he shared his problems with Dev and shiva, but I guess he doesn't see them as adults even now. He shoulders everything alone,my heart went out to him when he said dhara to leave him alone 💔.

Why you had to give those Kangans to evil maami shiva?😭😭

3)the Dukaan scene.❤️

Gaumbi deserves a big hug. H e has so much piled up on his head and has no one let out what he is ging through. The pressure is building in him....Kinshuk was soooo good yesterday...We could feel his confusion, his frustration...He really needs one tight cuddle❤️

Dukaan scene and atta holi was as usual unique in Shivi style. I liked how you mentioned about Shiva not telling anything infront of the customer and then reprimanding her....these are some subtle hubyy wifey moments❤️

In yesterday's epi, most of then were in their character and Raavi getting angry on Dhara and Dhara giving it back was also amazing.. Glad Dhara gave sensible advices instead of rona dhona..

Raavi needed to vent out and glad she she understood she was venting out on a wrong person.. I loved how Rishita was okay with Raavi's feelings on Dev..

Yesterday's Shivi scenes were beautifully put by most of you all.. I get Gaura were worrie about Raavi not having a bed but like Shiva said Gaura don't even have a room, technically sleeping on the floor improves the health condition.. Not that I want Shivi to sleep on the floor but it did look aesthetic...😆 Gaumbi spent 15000 on the bed, he could have given Rasik bhai that money 🤪

I kinda like Hardik's scenes as well.. But his height distracted me the most 🤣🤣 He is so tall and the way Dhara looks at him as if she is talking to a giraffe 🤣

And today's epi was also amazing

Shiva trying to come back to his shell, calling her maami ki behen ki beti and Raavi trying to irritate him was so cute.

Dhara and Gaumbi having a fight gave me a vibe of my parents having a fight, I just hope they resolve it soon 😭 They were like true parents, despite having their own issues they didn't let anyone know and got back to bringing Shivi together... Is it just me who felt Shiva was delibrately saying Dhara to take Raavi along?? He knows how to get her to his way from childhood, he knew she would get pissed and stay back, didn't he?😉

Krish, my darling thankfully had ss today, I love it when he cheers for Shivi 😆

Dobi Raavi with chawal ka atta was She cutely accepting her mistake and my goodness, they wasted a kilo of atta 🤣 and they were playing inside the store, people on the road can see free ka romance of Sheru Shiva and innocent (not so) si Raavi 🤣🤣Maagin could literally see the whole store from a little far... Alice looked super cute with Atta all over her face, but how did she manage to pull it off?? 🤣🤣
