Its the same thing, what I was trying to say is that though both of them were trying to deny a truth that is Adi and Imlie's marriage, the base on which both of them were denying were different. Adi posses greater values and morals that ironically his mother taught him. Thats why his insults were not that vicious too. Also while he had carried the guilt of betraying Malini, his biggest guilt was having to reject Imlie despite his conscience telling him he was her husband. So there is an underlying sense of concern he had been having for Imlie.
Even though Apu is taking the same path as him, her social conditioning is the base for her rejecting Imlie, which is more toxic compared to Adi's. Thats why I was vouching for a different redemption itself for her. And that is not going to be very easy because Adi will have to uproot a generation-old stigma. Hope I made myself clear 😅✌🏼

Exactly.. the base for denial is different..
Adi never judged her for her background .. he insulted her but not humiliated the way Apu and gangs doing..
